to learn Chinese in vain in order to communicate effectively with my Chinese relatives, but I have been unable to acquire enough skill to do so. Since I married a beautiful Chinese lady about 10 years ago, and she speaks fluent English, I found it unnecessary to learn Chinese and was able to have my own personal interpreter. I am left out of conversations when my wife is not there translating for me while we are in China. She may be shopping or busy, so at times I am left out of the conversation. Since the JonesR Translator comes with both Chinese and English languages preloaded on the equipment, it works without adding additional equipment or being hooked up to the internet since both languages are downloaded and are made available right out of the box. Using this app will be helpful while we travel in China, out to dinner or simply when I need to ask a question in English and get an answer in Chinese. There is no doubt that JonesR Translator is a great product. Because I have not used these for languages other than English and Chinese yet, it is difficult to comment on their accuracy in languages other than English and Chinese, but for me, this is the best device I have found, and I have searched for many others. To use most of them, you need a blue tooth connection to your cell phone, and then an internet connection. The ones mentioned here do not belong to these categories. Additionally, the units are equipped with built-in wifi, so you will not have to get your phone out to communicate.

Translators usually make inaccurate translations, and it often takes them several attempts to even get a really bad translation. Regardless of what the website advertises, it is evident that the translator is almost totally reliant on WiFi The overall experience has been disappointing. The hotspot has not yet been used by me. Neither I nor anyone I know would recommend this product.

During an outdoor festival where I did not have data, I tried to use it and instead of letting me use it offline, it constantly prompted me to connect to a WiFi.

It is just as advertised, easy to use, and versatile.
It has proven to be a very versatile and effective pocket sized translator, supporting all the major and even some obscure world languages through its unique menu and document translation features. My ability to speak foreign languages has improved as well as I've used it to learn foreign languages. My received pronounciation is immediately translated back into English so I can determine if my speaking was correct. When I practice speaking a target language, it instantly translates what I said into English. While the software is more expensive than many of its counterparts of this type, its robust feature set makes it a worthwhile investment, particularly for business users and those who require additional features for translation. When you're working outside of cell phone coverage or your home cell network, the built-in world SIM card, as well as a second SIM card and offline features, makes life a lot easier.
