I believe you are allowed, except in situations where a slight overhang would offend you. A pad measures seven inches by seven inches. The width is 5 inches and the depth is 11 inches. As a studio professional with more than a hundred commercial releases under my belt, I have a great deal of experience with monitoring setups. I was looking for an inexpensive replacement for an old pair of studio monitors relegated to shelf speakers for a small home entertainment system. It's great to have this product rather than the Auralex equivalent. Comparing it with the Auralex equivalent was quite the experience. In one of my Pro Tools rigs, it is attached to a Mac Mini As far as foam density goes, the two are almost the same. If you want more foam volume (per cubic inch), then Auralex MoPads offer it, but at a price that is out of all proportion to its density. It is hard to find pads with better performance at this price, but at this price, you Make sure your order is doubled if your monitors have a bigger footprint. There is no doubt that this sound isolation pad In spite of the fact that it came in a simple package, I could immediately tell how solid the foam was once I took it out. Although I do not have the equipment to make a scientific comparison between speakers with and without the pads, I would estimate a minimum 50% reduction in vibrations by placing my hand on top of a speaker with the pads and a speaker without the pads. logical that these pads would have a positive effect on speaker sound by reducing surface resonances that float off into the room and as well as ones with a negative effect that With and without the pads, I noticed a difference between the sound of a speaker placed over a part of the desk that had a drawer below it and the one without. While the difference was not drastic, it was noticeable enough to let me know the surface, as well as things underneath it, was affecting the sound, with some surfaces having a greater impact Compared to expensive pads that cost over three times as much, these only cost a fraction of the price. A new Elac Debut 2 was getting isolated so I bought these pads. From their 24" speakers stands, they have no speakers. My speakers are only a fraction of an inch over the pads and the pads themselves seem to be well made. Upon ordering, I was aware that the speakers measured just slightly longer than the pads, so this was not a surprise for me, and I had no problems with it. The way the speakers can be angled up or down is very convenient. I think this is a brilliant Compared to before, I think the sound of Elacs is even better. It is comforting to know that the enclosure generated a small amount of resonance that did not resonate through the stands. It doesn't do much. The reviews on these are so good that I am confused. Purchased them so that I can keep the Bass from my bookshelf speaker confined to a single room. I have no idea how people were able to achieve a significant reduction in bass vibration with that method. Doesn't work in the slightest. There is no way I would recommend them to you. Regardless of the size of the speaker, if a bookshelf speaker can't be isolated, there's no way it can be used for.
