It has been a while since I've bought a DAC, but it's 2 stars. We were able to simplify our bedroom system with just one output. Installing the Piano quickly on a Raspberry Pi 3 using ALSA or the vendor's GUI app, getting a good-looking piano sound, and configuring the Piano under Raspbian were easy. It only took a few minutes to get a good sounding crossover between the subwoofer and satellites. The Piano topology may have something to do with what Allo has done Due to the split signal processing, they seem to have made a DAC that plays well above its low price - a DAC that sounds excellent and is relatively inexpensive. In addition to having extremely precise and stable imaging, it is very well integrated into the workflow of the imaging system Presentation that is clearly defined. No lack of detail or definition either, arrangements of soaring massed voices, such as Mozart's Requiem or Beethoven's 9th, are graceful, stably performed, and with adequate impact.
I am sufficiently impressed. As a relatively cheap DAC, this device offers much more than we asked for within what we have available in our room and system, which was an extremely refreshing surprise for us.
What I like is that it works the way it is intended. Although the output is not as loud as I would like, and the sound quality is not the best. But if used with a powerful amp with tone controls, I think it will sound pretty good.
The piano 2 has been really fun to play. A Raspberry Pi 3B and a Raspberry Pi 1. I found installing the DAC on the pi to be very straightforward. Volumeio is what I use with my setup, and the sound with the DAC connected to the pi is the best I have ever experienced with my setup!.
