Questions & Answers

Can it be used on 220 volts?

The device is powered by a 5v USB bus. Therefore, you can use any USB power adapter that fits the bill.

What is the maximum number of Macs that can be daisy chained together? What difference would there be between getting just 4 inputs and getting 8?

Even if you have the ability, you would not 'want' to do so. The most likely explanation is signal and feedback nightmares. A single interface provides you with all the processing power you need.

There is a reason why unpopular people are unpopular
3/5

There is a good reason why this interface is unpopular. The build quality of the actual hardware is fine. The knobs, chassis etc are all good. However, it's awful in terms of audio quality, functionality, and usability. As a result, inputs are very low and dim, as well as laggy when played back. Through the headset, it seems like the playback is extremely delayed, indicated by 10ms in the DAW and 60ms on The software/firmware are unreliable and the drivers are unreliable. There isn't any way of choosing a buffer sample or even custom ones, since the buffer doesn't respond via A very poorly designed control panel is used to select buffer and block samples outsourced by Steinberg 2 x 144, 3 x 288 are the increments in a 5 digit number. (There is no option to adjust sample rate and quality here, but you can do so in I also found that the Loopback function didn't work for me, when I turned it on it turned off all my inputs and I saw or heard nothing or didn't see anything from any input ( which I haven't seen before on other units) Despite the fact that there is probably something wrong with my use of this unit, it just does not seem intuitive in comparison to other units, and more often than not, there is no actual description from the manual as to Having owned this device for a while has been a major headache and a huge waste of time on my part, this was clearly not an upgrade It is indeed very sad.

There is a ringing noise with a high pitch
4/5

If you want, you can do so here. The following update was added on In response to my warranty claim, Roland sent me my Rubix 24 back and now it is working like it should. As it appears on the packing slip, the noise fix has been installed, followed by "All checks pass". All is well with me! I'm still trying to figure out if my Rubix 24 is defective, having spoke with Roland support and still have not heard back. So this review will change based on what I hear. As far as I can tell, the Rubix 24 has an annoying high pitched ringing problem. There's a significant amount of shrieking and roaring when the interface input is turned up. If you're using a guitar VST, it will shriek even more. A higher gain leads to a louder sound. As part of Roland support, I made a video demonstrating my issue.

It has all the essentials to be excellent, but it lacks a few extras
3/5

I am quite pleased with the product, which has fairly straightforward instructions on how to set it up and use it. Despite being able to function with better than average results due to its buffer size settings (since I use quite a few instruments with VIs), this audio interface was not able to support the quality I need. Although it is worth four stars, there was a problem with noise caused by the USB cable not being able to power the program and transfer audio data without the noise. Unfortunately, the problem was solved by plugging the interface into a 5-volt micro USB outlet, and it works perfectly.

There is no doubt that I would recommend this book
5/5

In the past few years of using it, I only really have one complaint to make. * This button was placed beside my MIDI keyboard at my desk, and I found if you're a gamer, and you abuse your desk, it might damage yours. A forceful slam on my desk caused the headphone input to lose audio in the right ear, so the headphone jack is not as durable as it should be. However, one bright thing is that anyone looking for a great interface within a midrange budget would be able to get the best out of this. With a full metal case, two ports for XLR and 1/4 inch cables, audio monitoring, phantom power, ease of installation, and ease of plugging in, how could I not recommend it? Besides 1/4 inch balanced TRS outputs in the back and two ways to power the device, it has all the features we need in a simple form. My interface has been easy to use, and once the driver has been installed, I don't have to contact the support staff. It does not require any additional steps after the driver is installed, and it reports directly into my DAW or OBS software. You may have to tinker with your control panel to get it to work for Discord, Zoom, and the like. You can set it as your default device, and if still doesn't work, try another port on your motherboard. Good luck with your recordings!.

The sound is great, and the drivers are very stable on the The Sennheiser 416 is the equipment I use to record VO
4/5

I like this unit It has stable drivers on my PC (Win7), and it is a good buy. It only has one major shortcoming it doesn't come with the software that the Quad- has The captured levels were very difficult to set precisely due to the included images. With this model, there is also no compression. probably will unload this and either get the Rubix 24 (for the hardware compression) or find an alternative product with software that allows me to set the level precisely. It would be wonderful to stick with the Rolands, as the sound is excellent and they work well with my system The Roland software will hopefully be included with future releases so I won't have to change! I think this is a good solution for someone who does not want to install software It is advisable to use a professional studio if precise leveling is not a major concern. As long as the software is not installed, this is more of a consumer-based system A product at the level.

I am so thrilled with how things are going so far
5/5

You will need to take into account a lot of factors when choosing an audio interface. I love how these things work right out of the box ("on Mac, so no drives needed"), and they're a lot of fun to use. For years I have struggled with finding a workflow to create music from scratch, and now I've finally discovered this. I've recorded almost twenty demos using this plus Ableton Live and an Arturia controller I've had for decades. Having the ability to connect my guitar or bass directly to it so that I can record Direct Input is great for quickly getting my ideas down. It is the best feeling in the world. In the near future, I will update this if I experience latency issues, but for now this box is great.
