Jan.
It works great for connecting an amp to my 4x12. There's no buzzing, no hum (unless I'm using a single-coil guitar, in which case it's the guitar, not the gear), and the sound is fantastic. Most likely, I'll place another order. Now that I've got the first three, I'll probably get a few more, as well as a few longer ones. Make sure you're only using it as a speaker cable; it's not an instrument cable, though D'Addario makes some excellent instrument cables.
There are no issues, but they appear to be a little pricey for such short cables. I can't complain because most other reputable brands are much more expensive. For the past month, I've been using two of them on a 120 watt guitar amp and a 1000 watt bass amp, and they've performed admirably.
I don't mean that in a good way. These cables are fine if you're performing live with a full rock band and the audience is far away, because they won't hear the buzz coming from the cables, or it won't matter because the music is loud enough to drown it out. br>br>If you're a solo guitarist (like me) playing in a small venue like a coffee shop, you might get frustrated. br>br>If you're trying to make a clean recording at home (like me), and you use these cables to connect any of your gear to your DAW to record, the buzz will show up in your recording. br>br>Right now, I need to get rid of all of these cables and replace them with new ones. It's a real drag. But, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. If you want to get rid of the buzz, look for cables with gold-plated input heads. Those are the ones with which I have the most success.
I'm not going to get into the technical details. The importance of sound quality and durability cannot be overstated. If you're like many musicians, you'll use whatever speaker cables you have on hand. br>You're shortchanging your sound; match your speaker cables for the best results! Replace those mismatched crappy cables with these to balance your sound and reduce feedback. br>They're more durable than more expensive cables, and the sound quality is unrivaled in any price range.
In the music industry, Planet Waves is a well-known brand name. It's consistently well made from product to product; I ordered two of these cables, which arrived in hassle-free packaging (good for the environment) and performed admirably. The construction and finishing were both of a high standard. This book comes highly recommended.
I have quite a few of them, and they've always provided excellent sound. Only one of the roughly ten that I own eventually failed (after about seven years of continuous use), so I'll definitely keep using them!.
It's D'addario, and while you may occasionally receive a defective item, as with any company or product, once you find the right one, you'll have gear for years to come. Using a 4x12 cab and a 100 watt tube head.
