12 CHANNEL XLR – These all-analog rack mountable stage boxes are fully passive and capable of delivering up to 12 channels of audio and data. Each CAT Rack features 12 XLR ins or outs (male and female configurations), as well as an etherCON input and parallel etherCON output (allowing for daisy-chaining). Excellent for stage productions, recording studios, and touring.

RACK EARS ARE REVERSIBLE – Simply unscrew the two screws on each side to change the direction the rack is mounted. (Screws and rack ears are included)

MODULAR – The CAT Rack can be used as a stage box, splitter, or for a variety of other purposes. Compatible with analog, AES3, DMX, and intercom signals, as well as phantom power when using shielded CAT5e or better cable.

DURABLE – High-quality Neutrik connectors, machined anodized aluminum, and stainless steel screws are used to ensure long-term reliability. It will fit into a 1U rack slot.

Questions & Answers

We use a stage mixer to run the iem mixes. If I phantom power our mics and use these as splits, will this cause any issues with the foh console?

Using phantom power isn't a problem at all. To get the most out of phantom power, make sure you're using properly shielded cable.

Is it possible to make cat 6 cables on my own?

Yes, as long as the cable and connectors are shielded. The CAT cable's shield is used to carry the PIN 1 "ground."

Is there a pair of these? XLRs for women and men? or must I buy each item separately?

The CAT Rack is one of the system's "ends." On the other end, you'll require a second component. A CAT Rack of the opposite gender, a CAT Box, a CAT Tail, or a WallCAT are all options. All units are typically sold as singles, allowing you to put together the system you desire.

Is this compatible with Coluber or Lyxpro products?

They're ideal for use with SHEILDED cable

It's fantastic; it cut the number of wires required to relocate our sound system from 12 to three. They were also lighter, thanks to the fact that they were shielded Cat 5e cables. If you're making your own cables, be sure to test them first because unshielded cables will not work. The sound quality that comes out of these connectors is excellent when used with the proper cables. I'd buy from you again without a doubt. They did exactly what they said they would do and helped us improve our system.

It does what a passive connector panel should, but $250 is way too much; they can charge this because no one else makes anything similar. yet.

Passes any test! We've been using it to send AES and coms back and forth to our video room over CAT5e with no problems; it's a great box, well made, and well worth the money; we'll be using it again in the future

It is a PASSIVE cabling system that employs RJ-45 connectors. ANALOG audio signals will be carried over twisted-pair 45 network cable. make a pair of wires It not only has flimsy connectors, but it also shorts the neutral pins of all four balanced audio signals to the outer cable shield, inviting ground loops between the four audio sources. With this 12-piece set, If you want to use a channel patchbay, you'll need three separate RJ-45 connectors. Between the $250 passive patchbay and yet another $250 patchbay, there are 45 cables. You'll have spent over $600 on make-up by the time you're done. a 12-hour shift replacement 3-channel audio snake with 3-channel audio snake with 3-channel audio snake with 3-channel audio snake with individually connectors made of pins.
