It is only a matter of durability and build quality that I have noticed a difference. There is no doubt that this cable is of the highest quality. I like how thick it is, how durable it is, how flexible it is, but not too Its end connectors are molded to make it easier to plug it in each time (basically, it's the exact opposite of plugging a USB cable in). MIDI cables had the same performance regardless of design, build quality or interference, so as far as data, "sound quality" and interference, just about any MIDI cable could have done the same thing. The durability of this particular one makes it stand out.
A new MIDI module replaced my old MIDI cable. My experience using Roland products in the past has convinced me that they stand the test of time. Despite its thinness, this cord easily rolls up, is flexible and made well. Strain reliefs are of high quality and connections are tight. Hopefully it will last for quite a while.
The only problem that I had with these Midi cords is that they are rather short on the midi end. No Kat products or Native Instruments products will work with them. You only need to be careful with them, since they work well with Roland brand products.
