Right out of the box, mine worked perfectly. There are no changes to make. It would have been helpful if the instructions had specified which volume/tone knob controlled which pickup (I'm a newbie).
The more accurate term is full, long scale. It has a scale length of 34 inches.
From the front, a view of the base. The overall volume is controlled by the right knob. The other two knobs control pickup volume, with the middle one controlling the pickup closest to the fretboard.br>br>I hope that makes sense.

This package is good for beginners in general, but there is one major flaw: Because it hasn't been set up, it's useless right out of the box. Because the action is too high and the intonation is poor, it must be set up by a professional before use. Your hands and fingers will ache if you don't have the proper set up, and you won't be able to learn the notes correctly. It's a good beginner bass once you get it set up.
I found this kit online and was impressed by the other reviews, so I bought it. I was surprised to discover a three-month Fender lesson card inside; I've learned a lot and am very happy with my bass. The sound quality of the amp is excellent. Both the bag and the strap are of excellent quality. This is an excellent setup for newcomers. That's all I'm saying because I'm a newbie.
The frets have a nice smooth texture to them. Everything is in place and in order. There are no scratches, and the overall quality is excellent. Here's to picking up the bass and making the switch from violin to bass. This is also the one that my dog prefers.
After two weeks, the strap gave out. br>The cable had shielding issues, which resulted in buzzing (which was easily remedied by replacing it with a good cable). br>Because the bass is so basic, I had to retune it all the time. Finger placement on the fretboard is extremely important - As a result, it's extremely difficult for a beginner to take good notes. br>br>If you don't mind spending $330 to see if you'll enjoy playing the bass, this is a good way to put that theory to the test. Just keep in mind that you'll be replacing nearly every component with higher-quality ones in a month or two. br>br>At this point, I'm not using any of the pieces from this 'pack' - I do, however, play my new bass every day, with a different strap, cable, and amp each time.
I don't usually write read, but I felt compelled to do so because this bass is fantastic! The amp, like the bass, has a lovely tone to it. I believe this is the best value for money for so many pieces; they work, sound, and look fantastic. Not to mention the fact that it's a Fender. My purchase has made me extremely happy.
Bass is incredible in a gallon bucket. Legit! Near-perfect fit and finish, with the tiniest flaw near the neck joint. Who cares, great strings are all that matters. On the headstock, it appears that the hardware is nickel plated rather than chrome-plated. rad- The tuners have a lot of grease on them, and the volume-control knob is broken. volume- Upgrade the potentiometers and get a new capacitor for $30 and you've got yourself a real bargain! Get something on there, even if it's just oil, because the neck is really raw. The body is also a little thinner than usual. So it's extra sexy because of the bass? Just me? Buy this.
Amp is a complete waste of money. The amp isn't capable of carrying bass notes below C. As a result, it's pretty much useless in this situation. br>br>The PJ bass is a good beginner's instrument that can take you through intermediate and into some punk rock or basic country music gigs, but it's not a particularly sophisticated instrument. Still, it's a good practice guitar that will get you started and that you may be tempted to sell at some point, but won't (because, as bad as it is, it's better than the alternatives at its price). If you're willing to spend the money on a non-essential item, you'll be pleased. Fender amp with a power output of 50 watts or higher.
The amp performed admirably, and the guitar has a pleasant tone. However, the tuning keys had rusted areas and were broken. This guitar was supposed to be brand new when I got it - We had hoped for more.
