It is not worth the effort

I was not able to achieve my professional baritone with this product! Student or alto saxes are the best candidates unless you have experience as a performer.

When it comes to ligatures, cloth is the way to go

It is simply the best option to use Rovner ligatures. I had multiple metal ligatures in the past, but each of them would allow too much wiggle room for the reed. Performances that are energetic are especially important. With the cloth option, there is more even distribution of pressure on the reed, it is less likely to slip since it isn't smooth, and it doesn't scratch the.
