Questions & Answers

The vertical dimensions for my bass are fine. I have a 9-inch rib thickness at the lower bout of my bass. What are the chances of the case fitting?

Most likely, the answer would depend upon how high your bridge is compared to how deep your ribs are. I have a Juzek that is 8'5" and a Chadwick that is 8", and since they both have similar bridge heights, they fill out the case similarly. The actual case has a rib depth of nine inches, so I think it SHOULD fit. Nonetheless, if you have a tall overhang and steep angle to your neck, as well as a tall bridge, you may find it to

Is it possible to use this case since the distance from the bridge to the back of the bass instrument is 16 inches?

I find it to work fine for me, it's a snug fit, but it works.

Can you tell me how much it weighs?

Five pounds is the exact weight of the item. The bag is very well made with one large and one small pocket, a bow compartment, and an interior pocket. Three handles allow it to be easily handled by hand and it has two straps so it can be carried in a backpack style. I am in love with

Could you please let me know if an Ampeg baby bass fits in this case?

It will not fit a 1/4, 1/2, or full-size bass it is only meant for a

Even at their heaviest, the shoulder straps are pretty optimistic for someone with my 3/4 bass and height of 5' 8"
4/5

According to my needs, this case is perfect. In my opinion, the shoulder straps are a bit optimistic considering my 3/4 bass and the fact that I am 5' 8" tall, but the side handle straps make it reasonably easy to carry as well as to put into and remove from Take care to take the bow out of the bow pocket before you remove the case itself, otherwise you will risk losing the bow. Also, make sure to take out your cords and clip on mic before taking off the case. As a result, my bow now comes with a quiver permanently installed inside the case, which has an easy zip closure. A brief update This book was published in August 2018 As a result of hitting concrete with my bass, its back has In this case, it appears the padding is 12 mm rather than 25 mm. I have a loaner case with much thicker padding than my own. Still, I would recommend this bag because its weight is good and it is easy to handle, but it is not as robust as some others. Overheating may have contributed to the separation of the seam on the back of my instrument. The case is still recommended as long as you are careful about the impact on the price and capabilities. The October 2020 update is as follows It was mentioned in several sections of this review that my bass split its tailpiece, so I bought a new bass of the same model. Buying local is a good way to get good quality. With this case, you also get a side zipper and it is as thin as the Protec. It is better to have front pockets as well as the zipper. I ordered a second Protec as I wish to be sure of its effectiveness. It is still recommended to use a case with more padding if you have the option, but I have had very little damage to my first (used) bass other than what was described The risk of dings is minimal when handling carefully. Considering the price, I give it 4 stars as I still like it and consider it to be a decent case.

The bass cover is very well made and cost-effective
4/5

The price is good and I've even found room at the scroll to fit my Englehardt C1. This product is described as having a 25 mm padding, which is incorrect. The case is not padded this is pretty much a cover. I think this case is fairly well made, and should suffice to protect my Margaret and keep scuffs and scratches at bay when I travel to and from gigs. On the Protec tag, it says the original purchaser is entitled to a 5 year warranty against defects. I'll wait and see how it does.

My goal was to have something that would be thin, lightweight, and minimalist
5/5

I used to have an old bass case that was large and heavy, but also had wheels and could stand up on its own. The bass case should be lightweight so I can carry it. Despite its slim and compact size, I like the feel of this one. I have a 3/4-size Calin Wultur Panormo bass, and it barely fits, it's a snug fit. For transportation, it's probably a good thing that the shoes fit snugly. There isn't much elbow room for a huge padded case when I go to orchestra. Despite its thin padding (or 1/2"), it collapses flat and is very easy to store. Despite the small size of the pockets, I was able to fit a bow and some sheet music inside. My old monster bass case with wheels was incredibly difficult to move, so I registered for the 5 year warranty since I was not sure how long the zippers and stitching would last. So far, I prefer the simplicity of the minimalist case over my old monster bass case. have provided a picture of what the two cases look like.

It's the best bag you can buy for the price
5/5

I have been playing double bass for 29 years, and I've needed a light bag for my 3/4 plywood Carlo Robelli that gets all the outdoor and tight coffee shop The car gets filled with instruments every time we go on tour, so a thick, padded case just wouldn't work. In the end, I needed a bag that fit well, was easy to clean, and allowed me to carry the bass easily. There are no bags available at a comparable price that have all four of these features, plus a bag like this beats them by a long shot. FINALLY a bass bag with carrying handles on the right side and the right place! It is also great to have only one zipper in the middle. I am happy with how convenient and tough this system is. Protec has done a great job.

The quality of the materials used is excellent
5/5

I was looking for something exactly like that. I found this to be a perfect fit for my Eastman VB305 DB. Never had or seen a bag with a zipper running up the middle before, but it seems to work fine. It will just take some time to get used to, but in the end, you'll love it. The zipper on the side is a bit different. Having a gigging bass to carry to work was really important to me as a professional jazz bassist. I wanted a lightweight bag made from good materials that was lightweight and robust. It is very important for me to handle my instruments carefully This has always been the case Since I do not require a bulky padded hard case, I did not choose a 'puffy' one. In the 1950s, I had a bag made of plain old canvas that I used to play with. It's not going to be a problem running into doors and things like that. When I am on stage and my bass is uncovered, I am more at risk of it getting damaged. I like the material of this bag because it appears to be 'bulletproof' and the seams, pockets, and handles are A great deal for a bag that is very light.

A solid case for the price
4/5

I bought it to replace the old heavy leather case for my 3/4 Englehart from the 1970s, and it has the same feeling as the old case. Although I do find it odd that it zips up the front instead of the side as I have had in the past, this is a solid case for the price. As it is not padded a lot, I didn't care - I just wanted a nice case and cover. This is what I would recommend for that purpose.

It saved our lives we don't know how we ever The case was perfect for our stand-up bass which we used for a week long music conference, and the back straps made it easier to carry around town and travel in the van
4/5

The reviews by users mentioned that the straps broke, so we opted to support it by using the side handle instead. It's better to be safe than sorry. I have no problem with that. There is a handle on the right side. For this price, the zipper is not bothersome at all. It is odd at first, but it doesn't matter and it is not a minor issue. Our Epiphone 3/4 upright dates from the late 50s or early 60s, and it's as good as new. In terms of padding, the vest is only lightly padded, about as thick as a sweatshirt, but it is made of Neoprene-like There is a stiff black polyester material on the outside, like what you'd find on a typical gig bag. I am very pleased with the product. It was very reasonably priced, easy to carry, and kept the bass dry and scratch-free.

I think it's a great value for the price
5/5

I like the fabric and zippers of the jacket, but find the padding to be The only thing I need it for is to cover my bass and it does the job perfectly. There is only one thing I would have liked to see added to the bridge a protective awning. It got 4 stars from me There were 5 subjects in this list, but by then I might have been accused of being This is a 3/4 with an extremely tall bridge and a large bridge joint. There is no room to move. The majority of 3/4 basses will fit without any problems, so I think.
