For making springs, this is a good music wire

This product is exactly what it claims to be, and it serves me well as a raw material for winding torsion springs. I used a thicker gauge. It's 100" wire, and it's tough as nails. When releasing from the coil, be careful not to let the end whip around due to the powerful springback. Music wire and piano wire are two other names for the same thing.
