This is the best decision I have ever made!.

It's a really solid little instrument that's very fun to play! Although it took a couple of minutes for my 13 year old to get used to those gigantic strings, he was playing scales within a few Flutter is quite easy to generate on the E string, so you have to adjust your technique a bit. The sound is excellent even though I didn't have an amp, but I plugged it into an old Fender Twin Reverb and it sounded great. This song sounds good acoustically, but not great. It really does sound like a bigger bass when plugged in. My kids are much more likely to finish a piece using the strings, since they're much easier on their fingers. Although you have to turn these tuners a lot to perceive any difference, the built-in tuner is really a convenience.

This is a fun and interesting bass that has an unexpected bass, but is not totally impressed with the finish. For $250, you could have done better. Shouldn't cost an extra $50 if the wood is How come the rubber strings are there? One model is roundwound metal, and another is roundwound plastic. Instead of those, why not provide them?
