Questions & Answers
A little bit more than 32 - 3/4 of an inch
This is something we strongly discourage. Because the cold air inside the cabinet may come into contact with the warm air in the garage, causing water seepage or even frost if the cabinet is opened frequently.
The shelves are made up of 1 inch slats that are spaced far enough apart to hold three bottles each. Because the shelves cannot be moved, it is not possible to convert it to can storage.

The old trash compactor space was perfect for it. I was hesitant to purchase this chiller due to a number of complaints logged here, but then I remembered how many times I've purchased items on Amazon that worked perfectly and then deleted the email from Amazon asking me to review the product; if I had been sold a piece of junk, I would have been much more motivated to write a bad review. Given the high cost of this chiller, I decided to submit a positive customer review. br>br>We needed a wine chiller to replace our trash compactor, which we no longer used as empty nesters. With the amount of trash we produce, moving it out of the kitchen every other day makes sense. We liked the idea of adding a wine chiller because it would free up refrigerator space. My wife enjoys chilled reds just as much as she enjoys chilled whites, and it turns out that several types of reds are best served chilled (see Consumer Reports article). br>br>The chiller arrived in good condition, packaged in a box within a box, with a layer of styrofoam surrounding the actual appliance. It fit perfectly in the compactor's space, though it took up a little more depth and width than the compactor. To allow the chiller to slide past the electrical plug on the side of the island, we had our electrician install a "slim" box. Because the chiller is a little deeper than the compactor, he also turned the electrical box inside the compactor space sideways to accommodate plugging it in. It took about an hour and a half to complete all of this. The temperature control appears to be consistent. br>br> It has a low-temperature setting of 40 degrees Fahrenheit. We keep it there because it also holds beers and soft drinks. Pull the bottle out early or let the glass sit for 5 minutes if you're pouring reds or whites that need to be poured at 50 degrees. br>br>I have no reservations about recommending this unit. Pay attention to the warning that if the chiller has been sitting on its side for a few hours, you should let it sit upright for a couple of hours before plugging it in, as running it without the refrigerant in the proper place can cause damage to the unit.
So, after recommending this to a friend in need of a wine cooler, I decided to write a review. This was purchased in December of 2016 and is still in good condition! This is my third purchase of a wine refrigerator. I started with a mini 6 bottle (which is really only good for red) and then upgraded to a larger on-the-counter bottle. size of a dishwasher (approximately 25 gallons) 30 ct) that didn't quite chill my whites enough (I'd have to move the bottle to the main fridge before serving). So, when we moved into our new home, I did a lot of research because I wanted something that was affordable but could still get a good "chill" on the whites so I could enjoy them straight from the cooler without having to transfer them. This fit the bill perfectly! There have been no complaints as of August 2018. This is a quiet area beneath our bar. When compared to my previous one (which was more expensive and smaller), this one was more expensive, but it was worth it for the "chill" factor - so was willing to make an exception. br>br>UPDATE: I really liked this refrigerator, but as of November 2020, it is no longer chilling - It's likely that the compressor has died. similar to how the year has progressed so far. I thought it was fantastic. Although I paid a higher price, I now have to consider the cost in relation to the length of time it lasted. Oh, it was fun for a while. lol.
My kitchen looks so much nicer now that I have a quiet, sleek, and functional wine cooler. This purchase has made me very happy. When I first opened this refrigerator, it smelled like other new refrigerators. I left it open for a day before plugging it in, and everything appears to be working fine now.
The temperature swings too much, and the shelves are too crowded. I couldn't wait to get my Kalamera KRC-100 and install it. The 30SZB wine storage cooler is made of stainless steel and has a capacity of 30 liters It was purchased to replace a Vinotemp that had become too noisy for us to use in our kitchen. The compressor noise is no longer an issue because it's now the garage's secondary refrigerator. The Kalamera arrived in good condition and was transported upright, as far as I know. Because I couldn't install it until the weekend, I received the unit on Wednesday and it was able to "rest" upright in the box for a few days. I'm aware that these units dislike being horizontal and that they need at least two hours to recover from shipping and handling. The unit appears to be in excellent condition - I like how the blue interior "glow" from the internal LEDs (which do not emit heat) and how quiet it is, but the temperature fluctuates too much. I'm using a ThermoPro remote temperature sensor to keep track of the temperature, which varies between 53 and 58 degrees Fahrenheit. When the temperature is set to the ideal 55 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature rises to 62 degrees Fahrenheit. I believe that 9 degrees Fahrenheit is excessive. Wine prefers a consistent temperature and humidity level - I'm not constantly opening the door; in fact, my family and I recently went on a two-week vacation, during which time the unit was left unattended, and when I returned home, I checked the max/min remote unit, which showed a minimum of 53 and a maximum of 62 while we were gone. br>Another disappointment is that larger diameter 750 ml wine bottles (pinot noir, champagne, and so on) do not fit comfortably on the shelves - Because the label on the bottle jams between the shelves above and below when the shelf is slid in or out, it will be damaged. I'd much rather lose a row of five bottles and reduce the total capacity to 25, as this would make the shelf's function more practical with a variety of bottle sizes. It's as if the designer who drew up the original plans for its dimensions only had one reference wine bottle to use as a guide, and that reference wine bottle was a skinny, 3" diameter bottle of Riesling or Auxerrois, ignoring the larger bottle of Pinot Noir. A 3. The 25" 750ml bottle fits snugly but still functions, but a 3. A 5" Pinot Noir or Champagne bottle is too large, clogging the shelves and scraping the label off the bottle. br>As I previously stated, I'd prefer a unit with a slightly lower capacity that was more versatile and practical to use with all sizes of 750ml wine bottles.
