Here's what you need to know. My research led me to the conclusion that this was the one to buy after a lot of consideration. Other reviewers who have reviewed other similar devices noted that they needed to add a washer to clamp the tilt adjustment tight, so if this happens to mine, I will do the same, which is not a problem. The top of the line version offers three or four units, while this is available in two or three. A micrometer is essential, but only for holding one. As a result of the product working perfectly, I would be happy with more purchases if necessary. This holder is sturdily built, and the base is thick, as well. A few photos will hopefully be added There is no risk with Amazon!.

It is just referred to as the jaw guide, and the jaw guide is tapered away from the movable jaw. So, the farther open the jaw is, the looser the movable jaw is. So that it works better, I will machine my own jaw and jaw guide. The purpose of purchasing this tool would be defeated if you have to reinvent it every time. In addition, I did not like how the base was attached to the clamping mechanism, as it still slipped around when it was tightened. You now know what I mean. The quality of the product just isn't really that good.

Since I removed them, cleaned and reinstalled them, I have no reason to believe they will work, since they are clean with denatured alcohol, and I used a thin layer of RTV for reinsertion.

A sloppy fit is evident in the moving jaw. It would be better if the jaw bolt was Using the micrometer I use, there is only partial seating of the jaw bolt in the moving jaw. It is easiest to use a thinner spacer so the bolt is fully engaged. This price seems perfect for the little use I will put it to.

I agree that it works well, but its quality is poor as a whole. Compared to the dreary painting and uneven smoothing of the cast, they could have given it a little more effort.

It is much easier to measure parts in certain situations with this micrometer holder. I'm not sure it'll work every time, but when it does, it's great.

There is nothing fancy about this item. It's inexpensive and "value" priced. This isn't an exceptionally well built machine, but it looks nice and works well. The quality of the product is excellent. By turning one knob, I was able to get it to work better.

It fulfills its purpose. To prevent scratching of surfaces, you should glue the feet so they do not fall out.
