That's why I'm taking a look at it. I have an e-board with a 1/16" or 1/8" neoprene grip (glued) on top. It's possible that being attached to the grip tape keeps it from crumbling (friable). I haven't been able to locate that material. Prob. Manufacturers in China are the only ones who have access to it. In any case, I believe closed cell neoprene would be suitable for this application. I'm going to try it out. Contact cement is also used.
It appears to be possible, in my opinion.
I've never heard of a CO2 laser before. It's made of a material that looks like a wetsuit. If it became very hot, it would most likely melt.
Take a look at what's been given to you. Depending on what's on it, I'd use warm, mild soapy water.

As the title suggests, the material is of good quality, but it does not come with an adhesive backing. which it is said to have in the description. No big deal; I simply purchased a can of 3M spray adhesive because I am constructing an electric longboard and intend to use it to connect the board, electronics, and shell enclosure. Everything should be in order. If my measurements are correct, I'll even have enough left over to protect the electronics and battery inside the enclosure.
I bought this neoprene with the intention of using it as a sound dampener for my keyboard because it sounded hollow, and I was looking for materials to use to reduce the hollow sound of my keyboard. When compared to shelf liner, this roll of neoprene seemed to dampen the sound of the keyboard a little more than shelf liner, which surprised me. The adhesive is fine for this, but removing it will leave bits and pieces behind because the neoprene's durability feels almost fragile.
If I could, I would have given it a negative 5 star rating because the product has no adhesive, contrary to the description.
It was used to personalize the interior of a storage box. It adheres to the inside of the case quite well. Before I firmly pressed the foam down, I was able to reposition it. It's also simple to cut with sharp scissors. The rest will be used to cushion some equipment that I keep strapped in my truck cab.
There are a lot of glass vials in there, so I needed something to line the plastic trays with to cushion the contents. This thin neoprene liner is INCREDIBLY comfortable! I can carry the case up and down the stairs, in and out of the car, and nothing has broken thanks to the neoprene liner!.
I bought it because the replacement foam for the One Fast Cat wheel was out of stock and I couldn't wait two months. I had to trim the sides a little, but I was able to get three rolls for less than the manufacturer's replacement set. It isn't the most durable; my cat's nails have ripped a few small chunks out, but it is still usable.
My only gripe is that the backing paper refuses to come off in a single sheet. I couldn't stop crying. Aside from that, what a great way to improve my pickup's toolbox. There will be no more noise or banging of my metal detectors, etc. I used 1/4" on the bottom and this on the sides. Both were a perfect fit and went on quickly; just don't let it stick back to itself, and it'll be a breeze.
