As a result of hamstring repair surgery, I purchased this item. My toilet seat on my 16-inch toilet helped keep pressure off the surgical site (and it is essential that you do that if they are able), but the raised toilet seat on my 17-inch toilet was still too high. It proved to be a bit overwhelming to have a toilet that was 17" long. Because I'm short (4'5), I had to use my unaffected leg as a support.
