I hope to find out which type of 3D positioning is best. The couplings have been tried in a variety of ways. I think these are the best ones yet. Although the motor is installed in an unorthodox manner, it still runs smoothly. I liked it a lot, but it was a little costly.

It is possible that these are clones of Rund disc couplers, but they do the job for 3D There are some imperfections in the machining, but it is still If you use these, be careful not to bottom out the motor shaft and lead screw

The quality control is lousy

However, if you find one you like, it's okay. When I was looking for a coupler, this seemed like it might fit in a tight spot. My order had 2 different couplers, one of which is almost a mm wider and has a different finish from the other, but both are fine. The couplers I received from both companies will be returned and I will look for one with more consistent quality.

My printer Z axis is made up of two flex joints, though I did not like the noise. It clicks every time it rotates, and it was a major inconvenience. Generally, the clamps are able to hold the shaft in place on center, and they are pretty strong. But one came apart during a crash and the lead screw pulled the flex joint over A normal situation is not present here. My new type of aluminum coil has 2 setscrews per shaft, so I went back to it. There is dead silence but there is a slight springiness to things. In my experience, bottoming the lead screw against the motor shaft eliminates at least some downward movement.
This diaphragm type would be better suited to drive applications with high torque.

They do what they are supposed to do and work just fine. I wanted to keep both shafts aligned on center, but I wanted to allow for some flex to prevent rotation from becoming spongy. These do pretty much exactly what they claim. I didn't want them to have any sort of breakaway mechanism I didn't think I would ever need it, but don't expect them to save you if you are just crashing things together.

I paid 13 dollars apiece for a pair of these that are worse than stock lead screw couplings. Don't waste your time or money on them.

These fit many 3d printers, no give or slop, allowing a little movement in the Z axis if the screws are a little out of alignment.
