It's ideal for times when you don't need an alert that can be a distraction. The buzzer is very soft, so you don't need to cover it with tape to keep it quiet. Though it might not be soothing or alarming, I wouldn't label it as such.
The alarm verifies the status of the system safely without being too loud. The lights are bright enough without consuming too much power. We will definitely be using these in more machine automation projects.
