Questions & Answers

Do you recommend storing powder in the refrigerator?

In a powder container, it is very ok to store powder. As far as I'm aware, no moisture has gotten inside my house. Keeping mine and the black powder in an ammunition can makes sense to me. By keeping it out, it is kept

Is there a standard thread size for the spout?

As an aside, I don't know if it makes a difference, but other brands appear to be interchangeable, so Hopefully, I'll be able to find out next time I go to a big box hardware store.

What's the deal with it? There is an actual button that needs to be pushed to get the correct reading. ?

Howdy! The spout holds 30 grains of breakfast cereal, so you carefully place your finger over the end of the spout and turn it upside down, then open the valve to release the cereal. You fill the spout with 30 grains of powder, let go of the lever, turn it back to the top, and now you've got 30 grains of powder in the spout to load your muzzleloader.

Is there a specific amount of powder it holds?

Advertised as a 5 oz flask, it holds 500 ml of liquid Has an actual capacity of 3,5 oz. A typical shooting session will take up more than enough time.

I would rate the quality as good enough, but the nozzle is incorrect
4/5

I have this for a while, I'm just waiting to look at the range with it. I decided to find out what charges it hurls in the meantime. According to the advertisement, the spout holds thirty grains. It would appear that figure is close to the real one. There is no other way to know than to search for Holy Black and weigh its charges. The Goex ffg I had long ago was in my old possibles bag from a deer hunt years ago, so I filled half of the measure with that. To test each charge, I put them in the new electronic scale I got yesterday and weighed them. A batch of 25 grains is consistently delivered. With my trusty RCBS beam scale 5 0 5, it was all good. As a result, the agreement is reached. A file could easily fix an overage, but if a shortage occurs I will have to buy a new spout, which is pricey relative to the price of the measure, so I am not too happy about the situation. The feeling of almost having to return the item is almost overwhelming. Although, it's a decent measure, and if I can find some brass or copper tubing in the right size, I can single point the threads using the lathe. Or, you could open the spout up a bit and anneal it.

I haven't done anything yet, but it seems to work! This was just received, so I haven't had a chance to test it for a long time
3/5

The first problem is that the packaging was open, likely from shipping damage since it was loose in the box, but I do not think that this is the case. As you can see in the picture, the flask is not labeled CVA since there is no engraving on the outside. There are 26 grams of one in an average throw. It's a little light for a 30gn spout in the 5F Old Eynsford This isn't something I would buy again, but I am going to use it until.

There are no significant differences in the design or size between this flask and the traditional

As for the two for the 2F powder, the CVA was the superior method, the coarse powder would hang up in the tube
5/5

The CVA flask and the Traditions model are both in my possession. Both of them essentially do the same thing, although the swinging valve on this one is historically correct. With 2F powder, the CVA is superior to the Traditions flask because fine powder will hang up in the flask and need to be thumped to move things along. It does not seem to make much difference how well 3F powder flows because they are both easily soluble. In this regard, it is without a doubt that I use my CVA for coarse powder. For my , I have 50 and fine powder from Traditions.

You don't need to waste your money on junk, but search for different brands
3/5

The item is described and pictured as shown. This is a great looking device in the photos and described as is, but it doesn't work I guess it would be OK for a beginner, but I don't like the effect. If I were you, I would call this a piece of junk. The machine has been in my possession for a little while now and I am having difficulty operating it. I received 2 stars due to the difficulty in using the tube after fiddling with it for a whole lot, trying to get powder into the 30-grain tube is not easy. You have to hold a round tube with your finger on the spout while you move the lever over against a spring the spring tension is so strong that you almost need 2 hands to use it and your index finger is almost 2 feet long. You don't have to be tall and thin. In addition, it should not be a slide button but a push The problem with this is that it's too complicated. I'm going to put mine up for sale for 10 bucks. You're in for some trouble with this garbage. The recommendation is not to be made.

The product is of high quality and works well when using The product is solid brass, of good quality
5/5

The fact that both ends are removable is very convenient. 30gr. will be used. Spout is a strong load for an average 44 or 45 caliber muzzle loader pocket pistol and too much for an For plinking, you can cut the spout down to your desired capacity, if you find it to be too large. It is a good idea to use a double load This would probably be better suited to a pistol, as the opening allows FFF powder to flow more smoothly. There are times when FF (for rifles) clogs and you have to shake it a lot so the spout fills.

Photo is not etched like the one in the book
4/5

The powder flask you are holding looks great, I have one The photos made me think it had CVA's logo etched on it, which is why I bought it, so I would know which one is my 3f and which one is my 2. But it didn't have the logo, despite what the pictures indicated.

This is what I was looking for
5/5

The ones I could find were very expensive and most of them were plastic and I simply could not use them. It's exactly what I thought it would be, I found it on Amazon at a good price and took a chance. It's been a pleasure doing business with you! The obvious benefit of this product is that it is a good one, and given the fact that with prime it is delivered free to your door to boot! I will buy another for a backup! I am 100% sure!.
