The gate swings open in the opposite direction of how it usually does. It may or may not be a problem, depending on the application. This is not good for that system, as you can see from the YouTube video for the scam redirect. Choose the version that locks.
I already had the locking version, but I bought this one so I could use it with the Tibloc to rescue people from crevasses. The tibloc will not fit through the locking version gate because it is too thick. It works well, but keep in mind that if the rope is not taut, it can rotate and cause the running portion of the rope to go over the non-running portion. side with the pulleys.
I bought the pulley carabiner to help me with my hand ascender. The quality, design, and ease of use are all excellent. Petzl is a brand that you can't go wrong with.
This is what I use with my grillon with ascender, and it works great if you have rope that is flexible enough for the wheel's size.
I've only used it once, but it appears to have a wide range of applications.
It's pricey, but it's a fantastic item that arrived quickly.
It's extremely practical. This is fantastic. It can be used for firefighter training, resulting in a 2:1 ratio. 1 for a victim or a downed fireman. It really works. I decided against it. In order to make it easier to use in low-light situations, the locking mechanism has been added. The extra step of having to set up a pulley is eliminated. It comes with 3/8 rope, which I use.
It would be nice if Petzl could incorporate a swivel into the roll clip. Get a roll clip with a locking gate if possible.
