It would need to be brazed, although I have no idea
If you are using microdykes or cutting pliers, then you can do it. When I ordered it, I had no idea how fine it was The links were much larger than I expected. Since I don't use fine chain like this myself, I can't speak to the subject's quality.
Using pliers is the easiest way to open them, although they aren't super easy. It might damage the paint on the links (but the links are probably fine)
These links are not powder coated and are suitable for outdoor use, as mine have shown no Since I bought it last summer, it has remained black and been outside.

A way for us to hang plants in our patio garden was required. We purchased a new canopy this year that did not have a special loop for hanging plants as our previous canopy did. To accomplish what we wanted to accomplish, my husband came up with the idea of using a black, heavy duty chain. From the photos, it is evident that we used a long portion of the chain to hang from heavy duty hooks attached to our garage roof, along with smaller pieces of chain to attach to the canopy's corners. Our canopy harness frame was looped with reusable nylon cable zip ties and secured with the chain. We were able to hang our rather heavy plants without any problems with the chain.
There is no paint on it. I really like the ruggedness of this stuff. These links don't have paint on them, but they do have a rubbery coating. There is a difficulty in separating the links In order to find enough leverage, I used vice grips and another pair of pliers. The rest of the fittings were just what we needed to hang the chandelier.
I am very pleased with it. After unclamping the chain at the points I needed, I was able to reduce the chain's length. For now, I use four chains of about three foot length to hold up pots of soil. Racks hang from the ceiling for pots and pans. This product seems to be both durable and well made. I have no examples of the chains splitting.
The porch looks like I live in a tropical paradise. You can buy a few hooks from a hardware store, hang this chain wherever you want, and buy the plants you like. You'll see an improvement in your environment, your disposition, and the attitude of your neighbors.
There is a lot of strength in this chain. Using it, I divided the screen into 4 sections and used them all to hang 16" hanging baskets containing huge, heavy petunias. Chains still spin in the wind, and these chains have been around for decades. If I had to buy them again, I would.
The quality of the product is excellent. With confidence that the chain will support the weight of the watered plants, I cut it into lengths and hung them from the ceiling of my porch. As well as supporting an indoor chandelier, this chain has also been used in the past.
I have never seen a chain as junky as this one. A lot of the links have had their A used chain is clearly visible and does not appear to be.
The chain I was using was to hold all the key chains I had accumulated from my trips and hang them on the stairwell wall. No nicks or scratches, and it arrived in perfect condition. Everything is going great!.
