Is it powered by a belt?

Yes. Two extra belts were included in the package. I've made 750 cones so far - There were no issues at all.

Is the floss spinning up and out of the head or spinning to the sides?

The majority of the time, it's to the sides, but occasionally, it'll go up. If you don't get the plastic top, you'll be covered in sugar cobwebs.

Australia is where I call home. Is the voltage of the machines you ship to Australia 220V?

Not quite as impressive as I had hoped

The machine does not produce as much sugar as they claim, and a lot of it ends up on the side of the stainless steel bowl, wasting tons of cotton candy that could have been produced.
