As Kreg lists their screws by length, it is hard to tell sometimes if the screw is long or short. The diameter of these is much smaller than that of some #9 wood screws I have on hand and they're rated at #8.
Since KREG already responded to it on their website, I believe my opinion is superfluous and redundant That makes perfect sense, as well. Chemicals are injected into pressure treated wood (PT) during the manufacturing process - during which the wood is treated with powerful chemicals. The problem with metal screws and nails from other manufacturers when used with PT wood is that they can corrode. I have not first-hand experience with this specific Kreg item.

It's just too long to have a 5" exterior. Although I was thrilled to find out they exist, I was disappointed to find out they are not sold at the big box stores. However, Amazon had these at my house within 24 hours as usual.
