The situation is not like that. It was my fault. About seven sixteenths of an inch is the size of the screw head.

They work perfectly well, however they appear a bit off on the edges. In my experience, they tend to slip out of the head just a little less easily than most other screws when driven with my drill w/a #2 Phillips bit. However, I could have just been having a bad day.

Screws with these heads do not shear off easily and they work well. An excellent value for the money.
