While this item is good quality (thereby earning a five-star rating), it is not a brad nailer or finish nailer in 18 gauge. My Dad's antique brad nailer punch has the same design as this one, but it is NOT the same one, based on the photos I certainly wouldn't call it a close call. As for the tool, since the channel is quite wide, it feels large in my hand. I'll keep it, but honestly for the size nail it drives, it's not entirely necessary unless you have to get into some really deep spaces (like the J channel, say experts). I wrote this review specifically to bring attention to this issue since I know I am not the only one who doesn't want to buy a nail gun to do a few touch up jobs occasionally around the house and would rather use a hammer than a brad pusher. The tool for 18 gauge and finish nails isn't in my toolbox. It's the only thing I'm looking for!.

Avoids accidentally hitting your fingers with a hammer. The planer can be used to nail in narrow channels, corner spaces etc.
Dislike The "slug, " or piston you hit will eventually round, then mushroom, which is why you have to grind it.

I think this is an awesome As of now, I use it all the time and it is holding up well. It is mainly used for trimming nails for coil stock metal, driving the aluminum nails flush and straight into the sheet metal.

I have used it to remove or to place difficult nails.

The best of all worlds simple, cheap, and effective. Clearly one of the most useful tools.

I love it. This tool is very handy for furniture repairs that I am doing at the moment. There are also some other things I can do with this tool around the house.

For driving or removing nails easily, this is one of the best products available.
