I purchase houses, renovate them, and then resell them. I decided to do the entire rewiring on my most recent remodel using Wago nuts for 12 gauge wire because I was impressed with their ease of use and liked the fact that if I got the wiring wrong for some reason, I could easily change the wires. There are no twisted wires to worry about, and you won't have to untangle anything. If that's what I find, I'll use 5 wires to a nut. I was optimistic about these nuts because they had been used successfully in Germany and other European countries for many years. I discovered that if I jerked them apart while pulling, I could pull them apart, but they worked perfectly in normal use. I simply made sure I inserted them while keeping an eye on the clear side of the nuts while doing so. After re- I am SURE I will use them on the next house because they wired the entire house. They're more expensive than wire nuts, but I thought the Wagos would do a better job on any repairs or upgrades, and they'd be more convenient. I'm quite taken aback by what I've seen so far. Old timers may be skeptical, but I'm a believer.
If the house burns down, I guess I'll have to change this, but these are great little items. I used to avoid pig tailing by simply connecting the line and load wires to outlets. All things considered, I still don't see the point, but my electrician claims that it is the industry standard, so who knows. I'd rather not have to deal with wire nuts in such a small space, but these make pig tailing a lot easier. I did have a couple of wires start to back out as I was stuffing the extra wire into the box, so be careful, but other than that, these seem to work just as well as wire nuts and are less of a hassle. They also store much more neatly, and if you need a pass-through, you can easily drill out the end where the wire is supposed to stop. through. I think they're a little pricey for what they are, but I suppose it's worth it if they last.
Simple to work with. It's simple to remove. Wires are not damaged no matter how many times they are put together and taken apart; I wish I had known about these things when I was building my house. Yes, they are more expensive than standard wire nuts, but I would spend the extra money if I had the option. It was well worth the money.
However, only purchase WAGO products; other brands may not be UL listed. They're ideal for hanging from a ceiling. They won't replace wire nuts, but they do serve a purpose in places where you need a quick way to connect, as well as places where you don't. br>They won't replace wire nuts, but they do serve a purpose in places where you don't need a quick way to connect. And I make use of them whenever the situation calls for it.
I'd buy from you again in a heartbeat!.
It facilitates and speeds up the process of connecting.
The number four is preferred, but they appear to be hen's teeth. I like these connectors because they provide a positive reconnection that is simple to make and break.
