Questions & Answers

Is there a metal barrel beneath the insulation at the large diameter of these terminals? Is it possible to "double crimp" the insulation for added support?

The barrel portion of the terminal comes to an end at that lip. The barrel is capable of handling a wide range of gauges. On these, I usually crimp it, then move it half a crimp length and crimp it again. I'm not sure how useful that is.

Will this blue and red female work for 16 gauge positive and negative on a 16 gauge car speaker wire?

With 16 g, blue would be a better choice. I bought these male/female sets in red and blue. They have proven to be effective for me.

Are F2 terminals compatible with this?

F2 terminals come in a variety of widths and thicknesses. The most common wiring project around the house and in automotive applications is a 6 gauge wire. This size or the blue insulated ones for larger wire but the same size F2 termination will fit that very common size. About 95% of the wiring I do is this size or the%

Is it possible to crimp two 22AWG wires at once and daisy chain them using this disconnect?

Yes, as long as you keep in mind the total number of amps you're using.

Good lighting- single-handed duty ASIN: ASIN: ASIN: ASIN: ASIN: ASIN: ASIN: ASIN B01823DKVM is a unique code that can be used to identify a specific item
4/5

This review is only about the terminals I got when I bought them with ASIN B01823DKVM. br>These terminals are suitable for light-duty applications. duty use. You can crimp the un-crimpable with them. insulated portion of your wire, but it will not hold on to the insulation in order to provide strain relief. As a result, I believe they are unsuitable for any application requiring flex-based protection. failure of the wire (due to movement and/or vibration in general), or for applications where the terminated wire may be pulled on. br>I tried to show some of the details of their construction in the photos. The "x- The "ray" view depicts the terminal's three "zones," which are the push-buttons, the buttons, and the buttons, the buttons, and the buttons, the buttons, and the buttons, The wire-crimp portion (depicted with a yellow bar) and the "boot" portion (depicted with a green bar) on the terminal itself. Where my yellow bar ends, the terminal's metal content ends. Crimping the part of these terminals that I've marked with the green bar does nothing but deform the plastic boot; there's no metal in the "boot" portion at all, so it only serves to provide a little insulation past what should be the stripped part of your wire. It will not hold on to the insulation of your wire or the crimp in any predictable way. It does nothing more than deform the plastic. That is all there is to it. br>Due to a loss of depth perception, it's a little difficult to show, but in the end- I've included a photo of the terminal's "boot" area. It's clear that it's just made of plastic. The end of the wire-crimp zone can be seen in the photo as a sliver of metal. br>When using the proper tool, the terminals crimp perfectly, and when mated with a 1/4" male push-in connector, they hold securely. terminal (on, fast-on, whatever you want to call it). I'm not going to argue with people who say they're too tight because that's not my area of expertise. In a nutshell, I believe that tight is good and that - is bad. correctly applying force - I had no issues with the mating terminals or the devices that I connected them to. br>Difficulties with where the wire strands go and/or end up when you try to stuff them into the boot end in preparation for crimping are usually due to poor stripping and/or technique, etc. , so I won't try to comment on that except to say that I've crimped almost the entire bag (of 100) onto wires in the size range that these are designed for with only two failures, so I see essentially no problems there, considering that these are L DUTY TERMINALS should only be used in applications that are appropriate for them.

Purchasing is not recommended
3/5

Crimping ability is a fail. Purchase these at your peril. They don't have a metal shank that crimps to the wire, as shown in the photo. Under the receiver area, there is only a small amount of metal. I used 18g wire and after crimping with my Greenlee crimp tool (using the smallest bit), the wire could move and be pulled out. Crimping is difficult due to the small metal area available. There were also a few with no internal metal, only empty plastic housing. This is NOT the place to go if you want a secure connection.

I would not purchase these items again
3/5

The issues I've had with them are that they're so tight that I can barely connect them to the tabs, and the amount of force I have to use almost breaks the items I'm connecting them to, and removing them is even worse. They aren't quick or simple in any way. They grip the wire well, but on 22 ga wire, the insulation will slip into the crimping area, resulting in a poor connection. It becomes easier after the first time you put them on and take them off, but they will stay on, albeit reluctantly. They were attached to a pneumatic switch that controlled a foot pedal. I had to connect the wires before installing the switches because trying to do so while the switch was in place would bend the tabs. I couldn't put them on by hand, so I had to use needle-nosed pliers.

It was a large connector bag! Woohoo! I'm not sure what to say
5/5

I placed an order for 100 pieces and received a back with a 100-piece mark. I'm not interested in counting down to the hundredth, but it's clearly around that number. It arrived in a plastic bag and was shipped quickly. If you're disappointed that they won't be shipped individually, you can unbag them and dump them in the middle of your table. They appear to be in good condition.

Not good
3/5

The final product is a disaster. Junk produced in China. Crimping is too difficult/practically impossible. Wire won't stay attached to it.

So far, everything has gone according to plan - These were used to replace the wiring in a vehicle
4/5

So far, everything has gone according to plan - These were used to replace the wiring in an older ECM espresso machine; the only complaint is that they are extremely tight fitting on a standard. Spade is 25" long. In a few cases, I had to change to blues.

Make sure you're not getting ripped off! These are extremely well constructed! These are fantastic in all three sizes! They're well-made, and unlike other brands, they don't fall apart or slip off when crimped
5/5

Other brands have the metal piece slide out of the sleeve and expose the ends, but these do not! At least twice, I've reordered each size. Don't let the local stores overcharge you; this is a great product for the price!.
