Taking out the insulation consists of the following steps: The majority of people simply use a good glob of solder to burn off the coating. Place a large bead of solder on the iron tip and move it back and forth for 1/4"-1/2" 3/8" and the solder will adhere to the wire, engulfing the entire diameter of the wire. Examine the underside to ensure that all insulation has been removed. br>Clean the iron tip as usual before soldering.

It's exactly what I was expecting. For the wire gauge, the measured resistance per unit length is close to what I would expect. After scraping or burning the enamel off, I'm able to solder to it. There will be no issues.
Magnet Wire of the Highest Quality for PCB Trace Repair and Bodges A little goes a long way. The enamel is tough, but a soldering iron can quickly pierce it and leave little residue.

This is a lot of wire for the money, but it came in a smashed envelope. I'm going to waste a lot of time trying to untangle it, let alone keep it tidy now that the spool isn't there.
