In 16 and 20 gauge, I ordered two sets of taps and two sets of locks. All four packs were exactly what I had requested. They've held up well to all of the vibrations from various motorcycles.

Any newer modern vehicle with CAN system wiring is 20-years-old or newer. Wiring with a gauge of 22 AWG is extremely small. I used these connectors because they work exceptionally well on small wires and are 100% reliable.
They should be waterproof, if my memory serves me correctly. Alternatively, silicone can be used to seal them.

These appear to be Posi-type products. There's no way to know if they're tap connectors because they didn't come in the retail packaging shown on the product page. I have a feeling the seller is purchasing Posi- Tap connectors in bulk, repackage them, and then sell them for full retail price. Posi-packaged Products that can be tapped I've attached a picture of the package they sent. Nothing in the product description indicated that the item I would receive was not in a retail package at the time of this review. Cheaper taps may work for a while, but I expect these PosiTaps to last a long time. The centering and pin design are the key differences. Other taps seem to work around this by going down the middle, pushing the strands and wire coating out of the way. br>br>PosiTaps appear to work around this by going down the middle, pushing the strands and wire coating out of the way. br>br> I noticed a few things. The hole created by the broken strands is so small that it can be taped over without affecting the safety or functionality of the tapped wire. The biggest disadvantage is the price; they aren't cheap, but they do a fantastic job. In terms of my project, I used these to tap into turn signal and reverse wires so that I could use them as signals to switch cameras on my head unit. I wanted to do as little damage as possible to the expensive and difficult-to-reach wire harnesses and Positron Positron Positron Positron Positron Positron Positron Positron Positron Posi That was made possible thanks to Tap's assistance. I chose a spot inside the vehicle (read: the trunk). It was easy to get to, there was plenty of room to work, and there was enough wire length before and after the tap. An extra layer of protection in case something goes wrong, but I'm happy to report that the taps are working fine in my application and haven't caused any bulb out errors or interfered with the operation of the tapped lights.
In confined spaces, it's simple to use. To hook up a trailer hitch electrical hookup to my truck, I needed to tap into my taillights. I didn't want to cut the existing wire because I was working in a small, confined space where dexterity was required. I tried hooking up five wires with a different tapping system, but none of them worked. It turned out that the tapping system I was employing was prone to errors. misses and crimps synchronizations I was frustrated, so I looked for a solution, and four of the five wires I tapped immediately worked. I was to blame for the one failure because I had pointed the piercing end away from the wire to be tapped into. The completed taps are functional, and the connections will last because the taps I made are all capable of withstanding a strong tug. This is a good option if you only need a few taps to finish a project. You will be pleased with these taps if you use them for all of your difficult tapping jobs.
I used them to connect a signal to a kicker subwoofer box by tapping speakers in an F150. It was great to be able to tap the wire harness securely without having to cut the factory wiring. If I need to reverse the tap, I just unscrew it and cover the pierce point with a small piece of electrical tap.
These are fantastic. I've got them in every size you can think of. They're what I use for factory-integrated car audio. I'll never use the snap shut ones because I've had to repair so many wires after people used them and severed the source line; these are the only ones I'll use. It's so much more reliable and cleaner. Also, the wire will not be damaged.
They were used to convert my car's taillights to LEDs. I'm not sure what gauge the wires were (the ground was a larger gauge), but the connectors worked perfectly.
