I used it to re-read a book that I had forgotten about. a friend's boat was wired The 8 awg is rated for up to 50 amps, according to my calculations. The trolling motors on my friend's boat had 8 awg sockets built in.
Yes, as long as your amplifier has the appropriate gauge size. The proper gauge size for the length of the run should be specified in the installation manual.
A flexible PVC jacket serves as the outer layer. As a result, it will become chalky over time, much like a white PVC pipe exposed to direct sunlight. If you want your jacket to be UV resistant, look for one with a black coating. br>Many thanks.

Selected User Reviews For Lawrence Marine Duplex Tinned Marine Wire, Boat Cable, Made in USA (25 Foot, 8/2 AWG Duplex Red/Black)
I laid wire out flat and had a problem stripping it and when I pulled, I yanked about four feet out of the sheath and it wouldn't go back in, I needed all 25 feet of this so I added up pulling the wire out of the sheath and running it through a plastic loom, waste of money on marine wire but it is what it is.
Product arrived packaged very well, no abrasions or marks on product. I am extremely pleased with the product, which is of excellent quality. On the packing slip, there was even a nice thank you. I would recommend this product to anyone who has basic electrical knowledge and experience and is looking for longer trolling motor cables. This wire is currently being used on a Minn Kota 55lb thrust transom mount trolong motor, and it is performing admirably. In my canoe, the jacketed wire can be easily tucked away.
While the wire is made in the United States (a big plus in my book), the reason for the review is because of the seller, Greg's Marine, who packaged and bundled the wire extremely well. Great experience, and it's good to know that real people exist even when shopping online.
The cable is of excellent quality. With my 20 years of experience as an electrician, I can't think of anything wrong with it.
The duplex 8 gauge wire was spotless and well-maintained. From the wrapping to the shipping, this is a nice wire that I got to use in my boat for a trolling motor that required this size wire, but the price was high and no one had it in stock when I went shopping locally. The time spent searching for it on the internet was well worth the money saved. Overall, you get a good deal for the gage size and mount you get.
For the boat, this is an excellent wire.
It was exactly what I expected. Good quality wire at a lower price than the local east latrine, which was used to power a marine amplifier.
I bought this cable to use with my RV's solar panels that are carried in a suitcase. It's made of fine stranded, flexible, tined copper wires and has a weatherproof outer sheathing. This isn't typical Romax wiring for a house. This cable has completely satisfied me, and I would recommend it to others.
