These little sensor boards are so cute. During my installation of a touchless doorbell with no components mounted on the public side of the office door, I found this was one of the most sensitive doorbells I have ever seen (works through chicken wire-laced safety window glass). The maintenance team prefers this method because no holes (wires or screws) need to be made and turned into leaks or holes later. I particularly like how the sensitivity is automatically adjusted when the unit is This is one of my favorite little units!.
Exactly what I wanted. It is a very good implementation of the TP223 cap sensor chip. A blob of solder can be used to select HI or LO output, and another blob of solder can be used to select Toggle or Momentary output. The momentary mode can be used regardless of the supply voltage, and it's a nice feature that it times out after 7 seconds, returning to normal mode if the supply voltage isn't right The state of being active. It's a little self-help kind of thing There was no "calibration", but it means that the unit will adapt to a new electrical state, turning on once the capacitance rises above a level that I didn't expect.
It's really great to have these around. Even if you don't touch the surface, the finger is still active. The sensor will trigger when your finger gets to around 1/8 of an inch away from the sensor. The sensor still works as long as I place it underneath a 1/16" thick clear plastic. When you press your finger on the sensor, a red light automatically appears to indicate that it has been detected. In the case of using two or more of these at the same time, make sure they are physically spaced apart in order to prevent an accidental trigger of two or more of them. A 1 star deduction is due to the pins not being included in the package. As long as I have to solder the pins myself, I am lowering my star rating by two.
We have tested every sensor and all of them work.
