This model does not have a voltage rating of 250Vdc! It is a dangerous mode of failure

The product does not meet the specifications. In spite of the rating, then, it fried below 250VDC and cooked whatever FET it has. The capacitor now reads 90 ohms across the load terminals to indicate it's on (conducts) even with no pilot signal when used as is. In this case, it could lead to serious problems, as it may fail in a way that might blow up something.

I was able to switch 250 vdc just fine

In this application, I'm using two of these as a dual pole switch for a 250Vdc The trigger circuit is powered by 12 volts. After more than a dozen cycles, there have been no problems.
