Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
The AD22B04 signal decoder has a small footprint that makes it easy to transport and store.
With reverse polarity protection and a DC 12V working voltage.
Standby current is 11-13 MA, and there is a single relay.
Non-locking (Momentary), self-locking (Toggle), inter-locking (Latch), and a 5/20/60/120/250-second delay are among the eight modes of operation.
1/2/3/4 is the standard control command.

Questions & Answers

Is it possible to connect it directly to a 12V battery? Is it possible to connect it directly to a 12 volt battery?

For such a low price, this product performs admirably, and its basic operation is very straightforward
5/5

A small relay opens or closes a circuit in response to the appropriate DTMF code. However, the DTMF data must be correctly fed to it. br>br>I have a couple of ham radios that I use. Turn the receive volume all the way down and press whatever DTMF code you're testing (I'll use 1 in this example) into the DTMF board using the audio cable from the receiving radio. The board of directors is unlikely to respond. Why? Due to a lack of audio volume. As an example, while transmitting DTMF number 1 (eg: Start turning the volume up on the receive radio by pressing the 1 button while keying the radio. You'll eventually reach the'sweet spot,' where the tone is correctly decoded and the small relay clicks and the LED lights up. br>br>If the volume is turned up too loudly, the board will stop responding. You could use discriminator audio at a constant volume, but let's not get into that right now. br>br>Instructions on how to program various DTMF codes can be found all over the internet. It took me less than five minutes to track them down. Here's a quick rundown of programming basics for those who aren't Google-savvy. 1. br>br> When the board is turned on, press and release the small "key" button one time. There's no need to keep it in your hand. The board's power LED will turn off (as it should). 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br Use the same DTMF device that you used for the initial testing that I described above. I used my two ham radios, which I had previously set to the proper volume and verified worked with the factory-installed DTMF tones. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. Start transmitting on your transmitting device and press the '' sign (pound sign for non-English speakers). millennials), then any channel you'd like to program (in this case, 4), then any DTMF code you'd like; up to four (4) digits. Type '*' after you've typed in the new code (and while the transmitting device is still on). 4. br>br> To exit programming mode, press the 'key' button again for a few seconds. The power LED should now be illuminated again. So, let's say I want to change channel 4 to the 0000 code.
. Press the 'key' button to start typing. br> 40000
Send a message. Stop sending data. br> Once more, press the 'key' button. br>br>A word of caution: If you want to change 4 to something like 1234, you can do so easily with the method described above. However, unless the first three channels are reprogrammed from their default settings, pressing '1' will trigger channel 1, 2 will trigger channel 2, 3 will trigger channel 3, and 1234 will trigger channel 4. So you'll have to put in some effort to program it the way you want it. br>br>Now go forth with your newfound knowledge and stop whining about how difficult it is to operate the board; it is perfectly functional as long as it is used correctly.

The device itself is functional, but there is no product support or documentation available
3/5

The device itself is functional, but there is no product support or documentation available. You'd think it'd come with some sort of documentation, but it didn't. However, a quick search on the internet will yield a wealth of additional information. There are also pins that must be soldered if you want to use the chip's various modes. It won't be a big deal once you find a manual that explains everything. br>br>With the exception of the extra work required to figure out how to make it do what it's supposed to do, it's a well-made circuit and product in general.

There are no programming instructions included
3/5

This could be a great product if it came with just a single sheet of paper with installation instructions and programming information, but it didn't, and the Amazon sales ad doesn't include a link to this information. In the q, someone posted a YouTube video. a section, but it only covers default usage and does not cover programming. I understand that the default settings are one, two, three, and four on the phone keypad, but there are no instructions on how to program your own codes.

The DTMF decoder is in excellent working order
5/5

If you know what a DTMF decoder is, this does exactly what it says on the tin. A DTMF tone is heard on each of the four outputs. It can be set to 'pulse' the relay on for 2ish seconds, or it can be set to on/off (beep 1 for relay 1 on, then beep 1 again for relay 1 off). br>br>It can be configured to 'pulse' the relay on for 2ish seconds, or it can be set to on/off (beep 1 for relay 1 on, then beep 1 again for relay 1 off). br>br> There are a few additional features as well. It runs on a wide voltage range and requires a lot of audio signal to be plugged in. a public speaker on a two-dimensional plane Turn up the volume on a two-way radio or a cellphone headphone jack. It will not reliably trip with a 1000 ohm 1v signal. br>br>However, it is extremely simple to set up. as well as being very low-cost.

According to the instruction sheet, the DTMF Tone decoder did not work
3/5

I downloaded the programming and instruction sheets for the AD22B04 12V 4 Channel DTMF Tone Signal Decoder Relay Phone Remote Control PLC, which is a nice compact board at a reasonable price. The first unit I received was defective right out of the box, so I requested and received a replacement right away. Even after using a pair of amateur transceivers to send a DTMF tone, it didn't work as expected. So that's what I'm going to do now: I'm going to return it.
