In threading plastic parts, the taps tend to catch on the material just like in threading metal. By using this piece of equipment, shavings will be pushed out ahead of the hole (this is probably best for through holes), it will not bind and it will only require very light We had to use a vise with our other taps, but this one works in steel just fine. The tap is excellent!.
For tapping aluminum of one inch thickness I had been using four flute models. This was a great improvement over the four flute models I had been using. Unlike conventional teeth, these go in much easier and are less likely to gum.
It is a beautifully made tool that is also very sharp. Brass and aluminum have so far been threaded perfectly by it. There is no doubt that if cutting oil is used, you can cut threads on pretty much anything within reason.
It is great to have spiral taps, especially because they go well with the tapping attachment I purchased.
It is always a pleasure to work with Kodiak cutting tools.
In this instance, the tool did everything it was supposed to do to complete the task. Threads were put into a small brass cylinder with this tool.
The program works very well.
