Approximately 3/8 - There is a tap with the number 16 commonly available. If Irwin makes 3/8, I am sure that she is good at it A typo mistake might have led to the use of 16 instead of the other.
In this case, it would be the third eighth My purpose was to turn it with an adjustable wrench. It has 18 taps and has a 1/2" square drive.
The bushing must have a thread diameter of 3/8" or larger The following are sizing guidelines 1/16 or 3/8-inch

There was a hole I needed threaded, and this did the job. Having a shallow well pump at my lake house is convenient. The water is shut off every fall to avoid breaks in the pipes. Well, after about 15 years, the plug slot rusted out to where the 1/4-inch plug wouldn't fit properly and the leaks got worse and worse. Initially, I tried the dope method but it didn't work. I was going to JB weld it but I decided to go the right route instead. My drill bit was 37/64ths of an inch and I got some 3/8 npt fittings to install There is a hole in it that has been drilled and tapped. has been working well and I can now use water at my summer home.

It's nice to meet you! Good packaging and fast shipping. hesitant to drill holes in 26 year old fragile aluminum valve covers. I agree, but. The job had to be done In a vise along the side of the garage. Using this brand of Vermont American Tap ( my preferred brand ) was a breeze. The valve covers were both done. I ran in for a while, then I backed out. The threads in the valve cover were cleaned, and the cutting blade on the tap was cleaned. You should repeat that several times. Take it slow and be To borrow a steel plate from a friend, he tapped on it. The same result as last time. I think you've done an excellent job!.

My need for a pipe tap was to clean out some threads on a diesel engine fuel bowl, and this one Even though it's not of high quality, it's a great value for the price. For occasional use this will do just fine, but if I were a plumber I would still pick something else.

This is a great item.

It was a good tap for a good price.

Here is a good looking pipe tap that works perfectly. The picture shows it is made in the USA. Actually, it's not made in the USA, it's made in China. Had I known this, I would have purchased one made in the USA! Nevertheless, it's effective at installing sensors or sending units that are 3/8 inch in diameter.

As expected, it works.

Vermont American's tool is different from the one in the photo, as it does with all Vermont American products. As far as I can tell, the tap works.
