At the shank end, what is the measurement across the flats?

This is a 70mm film. In the handle where the tap inserts, 185" is measured halfway up the shank.

Is it possible to use it on stainless steel To convert my plate chiller from 1/2" npt to 1, I will need a 1/2" npt to 1" npt adapter. The TC fittings measure 5" in diameter. ?

It is recommended to use spiral design on stainless steel, TiN coating is the best method

I received one that is TiN coated, and it appears to be well made. To date, I have only used it to tap into plastic 3D-printed parts, but it is working well for this purpose.

Sharp as a tack

The tap is super sharp. The thread is super cleanly cut. Using 6061T6 aluminum for power tapping, I tapped 8 holes. Tapping still looks and cuts like it just came out of the box.

This tool was used to tap an outlet on a heater hose

In my project to build a 292 GM inline motor, I used it to tap out the heater hose outlet. I think it worked well. I am not usually a buyer of import tools, however the price was right.
