I've used them for everything I've needed to tap in RC components. These were used to construct trailers and tap aluminum. Despite being made of aluminum, they are extremely strong for their size and have yet to snap.
I've tried a few and they're great; I'm happy with my purchase. They come highly recommended from me.
The only drawback is that without a magnifying glass or a microscope, the markings are difficult to see. I was able to get my work done quickly because of the same-day shipping.
The taps were exactly what I was looking for, and they worked flawlessly.
On aluminum and thin steel, it worked perfectly. For brass and copper, they should work fine. Cutting oil is a good option.
This isn't a problem with these taps, but it is with any small tap. It's best to attach a knurled collar to these so you can spin them with your fingers, as well as a guide to keep them straight in your drill press.
