That's how I put mine to good use. It works, but after drilling for the tap, it's a little tight. You'll need a firm grip on the case, and it's best to gradually enlarge the hole with a few pilot bits. If you don't get the hole tapped, the case will be useless.

You won't have to guess what size drill bit your die will require. The drill bet is sharp, and because I'll be using it exclusively on copper, it should last a long time. The die was precisely machined to impart the correct pitch and number of threads for which it was designed. br>It's already in use, and it's fantastic. I'm a satisfied customer.
This is the tap to make your own if you have a cartridge overall length Gage. br>I bought because they didn't have the cartridge I wanted and I needed something faster than their custom shop. This accomplished that, but there's more to it than a simple tap. In order for the bullet to slide freely, you must also remove material from the inside of the case neck to relieve friction. In the end, if I had to do it again, I'd probably just pay and wait.
This is a nice tap that works well with fired cases and the Hornady OAL gauge. L is the proper drill size. It's an unusual thread size, and I'm not sure if the product has changed, but the reviews that said it came from China and the one that said there was no case were both positive. It's shipping PRIME, which means it'll arrive directly from Amazon's warehouse, and mine was made in Taiwan and came in a plastic case.
It was ideal for the task at hand. I was very pleased with the overall outcome. The length was perfect; it's difficult to gauge length from a brief description sometimes, but this did.
It works. Nonetheless, the. The rim of the 223 case I drilled and tapped was mostly cut off by the tap due to its small diameter. Simply purchase a Hornady modified case for. 223 or 5.
It was very sharp and arrived in good condition, though a case would have been nice. For converting cases for the Hornady OAL gauge, this is the right size. You'll also require the appropriate drill bit, which can be found in a previous review. Because the shank is smaller than the thread size, through tapping is possible.
Tools of high quality, including a tap drill with tap.
