The setup, connection, and operating system are pretty much the same as those reviewed previously. The WiFi edition of my TV should come with a smart version. As I do not have a dried out garden, I seldom change my watering schedule. I can use all my devices without a problem, but when there is a power outage, I need to get the power back on. The problem will be solved by the SST400IN. Having finished installing, programming, verifying, I can sleep now.
During our first appointment for spring irrigation, there was an error with our indoor Irritrol timer; we didn't realize how old it was. At the end of the test run, the tech was surprised to find that all of the sprinklers were actually working. Except the zones were still green, but only for a moment for the tech to look at them and stop it. It seemed the clock was showing 24 V (same as last year) so our technician switched out the AC adapter. It was not. We should spend some money on an indoor timer, he advised. had cost us $150. So he recommended I bought a Rain Bird elsewhere and used it myself instead. However, I found it very easy for me to install this timer, and I was hesitant about going with it as I did not have any experience with this product. (And you have to pay 1/3 for installation fees for our irrigation technician, to the tune of $1. It only took me a few steps to get there. Remove the current timer cover from its foundation, and take a look at what is installed. The second step consists of detaching all wires and removing the existing timer, which was added to the wall. A new timer is an essential part of our clocks, and I had to make a hole in the wall for it since the current version had not worked with my clocks in place. As well as re-attaching wires to Rain Bird timer 4, these are required by the electrical system. Another thing that made the timer easy was to program it. There was no more than fifteen minutes in this process. This is also an excellent alternative to a standard indoor irrigation timer that isn't working properly, so I highly recommend that person. Simple, convenient installation (on existing wires) and an easy way to program.
In addition to pushing on the terminals of the new unit, it runs much more profitably. This type of screw is on the older unit. Cables have a smaller opening (16 ga. ). If there was a 14 ga. , it would be 15. Because of the wire used in the original unit, we had to exchange the entire hook set. With a smaller gauge, attach more wires. In spite of all four zones having been connected on a single connection, a measured 24v was provided by the unit itself. Their Customer Service is incapable of responding to callers' inquiries since they provided no trouble-shooting information. I find it hard to believe one could wait an entire hour on hold but still have to give a call back after that. This was definitely not a money-wise decision, given the amount of time, money, and time that went into it. Each unit is functional.
I only got absolutely no instructions on how I should connect the pump start. In my computer's CPU, I have an older timer on a 104 ps chip which died. was wondering if I could upgrade this but after connecting the wires to a switch that starts the pump, the battery is not charging and I hit a stop button. Old unit uses two wires common to both the outlet terminals for connecting old device one to the starter and another terminal. Older pump starter wires need not be connected manually. Only to be told my volume was too high when I called rain bird.
This controller going in is very different from the one being used next, as it goes bonkers in reprogramming when a strong wind cked it directly. To cover the entire face, I was asked to put a box over it. The garage is not the only place where I keep it - However, that didn't work, as you don't want wind to blow it off so the mesh fits tight. Without such an open fit, it is possible that the dial can be reset from run to off, etc. I so far have not had a problem programming this device, much easier than the previous controller I owned. For basic sprinkler setups, it's much more convenient. Four valves can be used. An indication of when the on/off switch goes on and off is readily visible. No problem with sprinkler controllers of all types, please make them easier to read, however, I currently struggle with the same issue I dealt with over at the sprinkler controllers in general. I won't be telling PM from AM this time, but it's better than not at all. To read the dial though, you must peer into the device closely. Tech support is not necessary.
This controller is easy to program and use, and can be used on any desktop or laptop. Each of the circuits is then programmed over time and for a certain period. There is no time restriction on the number of times the circuit can run on each circuit as long as each circuit is programmed directly. On top of that, my program runs one circuit a time; for example, my program runs 1 through 3 for Front Yard. On Mondays and Thursdays, they will all be open at 6 A. M. When set for some period of time each will run once, they are sequencesd to run one another. In Circuit 4, you can control the flow of dirt throughout the foundation and front shrubs. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are always open. It does require the user to run a circuit manually if an appropriate circuit is selected. The selected circuit will be manually selected and run for the duration specified. Exception: The control switch should be re-configured back into the automatic mode as soon as the current setup time can be met.
After ordering one, I found it with a backup battery. A new report has been filed and changes to rk a report and re- ordered. How is it possible to Guess What!! No power backup was provided in the second version. I managed to get the system running thanks to my modification of an old 24v PS. On the other hand, if I received a refund for my next order, it's fair (if not always for me).
It's as easy as installing and setting up your Rain Bird controller. There are a number of options that will appeal to everyone, even though some may not use them. For example, one or more stations could start their broadcasts at different times each day. Using this feature, you can adjust your watering period from just two 20 minute runs every 10 minutes a half hour up to twice as many. My watering time works best with this setting. Grass lawns can soak up a lot of water and not run off too much, therefore surviving the summer. I agree with other reviewers that this controller's build quality is somewhat flawed. Nevertheless, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. I recommend leaving the unit alone in my garage for quite some time once it is installed and programmed in that way. I think you, too, will find the piece to be very useful.
