Questions & Answers

Is it safe to eat this glue?

I don't know much about it, but I don't think it's food-safe. Chemicals in such glues, I'm guessing, should not be consumed. When I break a favorite tea cup or pot, I glue it to keep it together, but only for decorative purposes. I never use a repaired cup to make tea or drink from.

The most effective method for removing it from one's fingers! ?

I'm not sure if this is the best method, but when it's dry, I simply peel it off. I'll remove everything without causing you any discomfort.

Has anyone used this to repair shoes by gluing leather to leather? What's the status of that project?

I've used Duco to repair the leather on my wallet and camera cases, and they've lasted for years despite being heavily used. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever It's unlikely that small tears occur in the absence of major strain. That was done with ordinary shoe glue. br>br>The best all-around player is Duco. ever made around glue

This product has undergone a transformation, and it is not in a good way! I've always had a thing for broken things
3/5

It used to be Precious Moments figurines, but now it's Lenox Christmas decorations. I also have a bad habit of breaking things that can be broken. For years, I used Duco Cement to repair damaged Precious Moments figures. br>br>In the past, I've used Duco Cement to reattach a birthday candle to a frog-shaped cake figurine; a flower into a flower pot held by a young girl; The pieces held together well, and the break was not visible when repaired with Duco Cement. and a bunny back into the arms of a little girl Precious Moments figurine br>br>Join us in November of this year. When I unpacked my Christmas decorations, I discovered that despite being well packed, a Snoopy figurine from the Lenox Peanuts Nativity set I received last year had broken. I attempted to use Super Glue, but it was ineffective. I was able to get rid of the remaining Super Glue. I remembered Duco Cement and was delighted to find it on Amazon with Prime. br>br>I read all of the instructions before attempting to open the Duco Cement. Unlike Super Glue, the product has no seal and is ready to use as soon as the lid is removed. It's far more convenient than the Super Glue packaging. I painted Snoopy's head and body with a thin layer of paint and held the pieces tightly together while they dried. Duco Cement dries in five minutes, according to other reviewers. That, in my opinion, is a bit of a stretch. I waited five minutes, then ten minutes, then twenty minutes, and finally 35 minutes for the Duco Cement to dry. The head of Snoopy, however, was missing. Instead, there was a thin layer of Duco Cement between the two pieces, which easily peeled away. br>br>Precious Moments porcelain is more matte than Lenox porcelain, which is slick and shiny. As a result, I made the decision to sand down the pieces. I sanded the edges that would be glued together before gluing them together. After that, I tried Duco Cement a second time, and it took 31 minutes to dry this time. The same thing happened this time: the pieces would not stick together. br>br>Both times, a thick layer of Duco Cement was left behind, which peeled off easily. The Duco Cement had no adhesive properties at all; it simply added a plastic-like layer to the pieces rather than joining them. br>br>In general, Duco Cement has disappointed me. Despite claims to the contrary, it did not fulfill the purpose for which I purchased it. I'm not sure how people use it to reattach mug handles because it's not very strong. This is the last time I'll buy this product. Snoopy's head was taped back on with double stick mounting tape for Christmas 2018. It isn't pretty, but it will complete the Peanuts Nativity. The set was unfortunately discontinued by Lenox, and it is no longer available through their replacement program. I have no intention of replacing the entire nativity set just to replace one figure. P. br>br>P. br>br>P. br>br>P. I'd love to hear from anyone who knows of a glue that can be used to repair Lenox porcelain.

I'm blown away
5/5

It was effective in my case. During my recent trip to Portugal, I purchased a lovely hand-painted bowl, which promptly broke in half. It's a good thing it was a relatively clean break. I was a little skeptical after reading the mixed reviews for this product. My husband and I applied the product to one side of the cracked surface and held the other side for a few seconds, which was ideal for my situation. The two sides were then held together with a rubber band. We wiped away the excess glue and wrapped the bowl in a rubber band for the night. The crack was barely visible the next day, which surprised my husband. I'm blown away.

I fixed the handle on my coffee cup - I would strongly suggest it
5/5

This was purchased to reattach a ceramic coffee cup handle. It was a slam-dunk success! The handle on my favorite coffee cup snapped - Fortunately, everything came out okay. I experimented with some "as seen on TV" putty I had in my drawer. It appeared that it was successful. It appeared to be a bit disorganized - It was a dark grey color that got on the handle and cup, but the handle seemed to stay in place. It snapped off again at the puttied joints two weeks later. I used my dremel tool and fingernail to remove the putty and clean the surface. Because of the positive reviews, I bought this glue on Amazon. The cement was thick enough to not run all over the place. br>br> I applied a small amount to both ceramic surfaces. After that, I placed the cup's handle. I was able to move around until I got it just right, and then I held it for about a minute. The cement had a lot of grabbing power. I didn't think I needed to hold it in place, but I did. Even though it felt strong enough to hold after only a few hours, I let it cure overnight. br>br>The glue is clear. When the excess was still liquid, I was able to clean it. My favorite coffee cup appears to be in perfect condition! It's been washed and used numerous times, and it's still going strong after a month. I strongly advise you to purchase this glue. Even if you don't think you'll use it right away. It's essential to keep in your drawer in case of an emergency.

Duco has been in use for over 40 years! Since I was a kid in the 1970s, I've kept a tube of DUCO cement on hand
5/5

It's simply a fantastic all-around game. For household repairs, use a round glue. PROS: br>br> br>Take good care of your plastics. (e. Models and other plastic parts have been known to be affected by this. Some plastics appear to be on the verge of being fused. )br>It's also good for ceramics. (e. I've used it to repair the handles of broken coffee cups. )br>br>CONS: )br>br>CONS: )br>br>CONS: It's not epoxy, but it's a lot less difficult to work with. SUMMARY: br>br> br>This is a great item to have around the house. When squirted to the tube's end and sealed, it doesn't dry out.

It is always with me! I keep a tube of Duco in my bag at all times
5/5

I hand-carried home a lovely set of patterned canisters from Greece years ago, and it's the most useful adhesive. When my cat knocked them off the kitchen counter and shattered them all, I was devastated. When my son, a teenager at the time, saw how upset I was, he painstakingly matched the 50 or so pieces together, reassembling the puzzle. With Duco cement, I was able to assemble them perfectly! Fortunately, none of the seams are visible. This amazing feat occurred many years ago, and my canisters are now in a more secure location. They'd never be able to tell they'd been shattered!.

Excellent adhesive for statutes, trinkets, and other small items
3/5

I purchased it to replace a lion statue that had been broken during a move. On YouTube, I saw it recommended by a professional statue restorer. Actually, two things went wrong. Both of them are lions. Unfortunately, I tried another product first, so this adhesive only worked on the first statue and not the second. I attempted to remove the previous glue, but it was unsuccessful. So, if I hadn't tried to repair it before buying this, it might have worked like it did for professionals. But at the very least, it saved a life! It's just not the one I was hoping to save, and that's my fault, not the glue's. It's a good-sized tube that can be used for a variety of purposes. However, I have no intention of breaking anything else. Haha.
