Questions & Answers

When does the expiration date of these products begin? In the event the expiration date has passed, there is no further benefit from using them. ?

If its expiration date has passed, I would not use it. Caulk that has been around for a while loses its adhesion faster it's better to replace it. It is by far the best stuff you will ever use. There is a six-hour waiting period for the batch to sit We recommend that water be exposed to in the bath or kitchen, or if you want paint anywhere else, 7 days before use.

Is it OK to add more sikaflex on top of the existing sikaflex after I have filled the cracks. Are there any chances of it bonding ?

In all cases, a cured bond break will exist, but if you need to increase the fill of the caulkable gap, no harm will be done. A little acetone can be used to react the existing caulk. You should not use vertical fill if it's in a vertical direction! Your hands will be a mess and everything else will be a mess too.

If I want to seal stainless steel on concrete in an underwater pool with chlorine, is this the stuff I need ?

As far as I can tell, I haven't used it that much, but this caulk seems very durable and sticks to anything well.

What is the duration of the event?

The truck has been in my driveway for at least 14 years, and it is still in good shape

This product seals the seams and joints of camper trailer joints
5/5

It also adheres well. Be sure that the surface is dry and clean. As part of the surface preparation, I used paint thinner. Considering the price, it was a bit rough at $17 a tube.

The screw gaskets on an old metal roof can be fixed easily
5/5

The product is worth its weight in gold if you own an older metal roof that has failing screw gaskets. When you're on a dry roof, squirt a bead of caulking around each screw. Let it dry a bit before you poke it around with a cheap disposable 1" paintbrush. We had some leaks, but they just disappeared as a result of this process. Do not forget this You aren't always able to tell exactly where a leak is on your roof by its appearance on your floor. In addition to these issues, some vents under the centerline had deteriorated foam gaskets that allowed blowing rain to come in directly under the vents. You should clean out the void, fill it with expanding foam, trim it flush, and paint I have solved the problem!.

The dried product gets very hard
5/5

I had no idea how hard it would be It would make more sense to me if it were Silica dries way, way harder than it does. There is no sign of cracking. The system has fared well since its introduction.

Under water, it keeps its seal intact
5/5

It would be great to use a sealant in the base of a small fountain that mounts on the wall. I thought it would be an obvious choice to use silicone sealant, but if you read the fine print, it doesn't say it should be used for underwater sealing. So far, Sikaflex has been the only sealant I could find for this application, and I'm very impressed with the way it's performed. Even in 85 degree heat it seems to hold up fine. It is a bit messy to use--would have liked for it to stand up in a winter. Perhaps this is why it seals small cracks more effectively than other sealants since it is quite 'mushy' compared to other sealants. Due to the small size of the task, I was able to smooth the surface using a plastic spoon.

As an adhesive sealant, I use it to close plastic bags that have developed rips or tears
5/5

I couldn't live without it. The seal is very strong and waterproof, and it bonds very well I have used it with radically different temperatures and have had good results. I would recommend taking a solid (say 10 degrees F) and bringing it to a warm room temperature (80 degrees F+). This sealant remains strong even if it is mixed back and forth between these temperatures for a long period of time or if it is immersed in water. It is the only sealant that I've tried that works for my needs. I have tried many different putties, glues, tapes and other devices.

A nice finish and easy application make it ideal for everyday wear
5/5

This was used to seal my house from radon. After installing a fan under the slab, I reduced my radon levels, but not by much. As a result of sealing joints and perimeters with this, the radon level drops to a few tenths of a pic/L, high enough that the radon meter cannot be used. A nice finish and easy application make it ideal for everyday wear. Even after a year it looks exactly like when it was installed. It has not shrunk or cracked in the slightest.

The purpose of this is to seal the roof of my pop-up Work great with this stuff. Has almost no problems sticking to it. This was purchased as it is said not to shrink as a result of weather changes.
