Questions & Answers

For anet a8, will there have to be any software changes? Are you able to plug it into the wall and go?

It works great now that the motor is mounted to the frame (moving the extruder motor to the frame). During that time, I made no software changes, but I placed my printer on a "vibration" pad that greatly improved the performance of the printer. In my test prints, I improved my prints by 100% with the Bowden Extruder and the "vibration" mat

I love the color scheme of this, will it work for the CR10?

I'm sure it'll fit a CR10, so there's no need to worry. In addition to the Ender 3, all other parts made for the CR10 will also work. It is awesome how the color scheme came out.

What if the spring tension needs to be adjusted? The screw that attaches to the spring appears to hold the spring in place if you tighten it. ?

I do not believe that is true. Screws only go so far before they stop sprint tension has nothing to do with the screw's length.

What is the best way to reduce ?

As a result of the too high tension, I used a plastic spring clamp.

This is absolutely not the same as the I definitely see this as a replacement for the This is a challenge I'm willing to accept and I like the ability to load the filament quickly
3/5

I have a machine shop that can do it. However, this will not work on the Anet A8 without some serious modifications. Anet's over quality is well made, but it will not work on the Anet A8. There is no way to attach the bracket to the X carrier mount since it doesn't fit two inches wide. In this version, there is no drilling, new screws, cutting, or grinding. I will update my version after grinding, cutting, and tinkering. I am hard headed and like a good challenge. If you don't have any skills with metals, this is not the place for you. In the lower portion of the housing is a hole for accepting the mounting screw, as in the original. In doing so you will not be able to drill and tap a screw into In the event it doesn't work, it's not a large sum of money. It is probably because of this reason that instructions were omitted.

A new version of MPSMv2 has been released
4/5

The monoprice select mini v2 printer I just bought is compatible with this. There is a strong sense of quality in everything except the bowden tube fitting, which is weak and flimsy, as others have also noted. The gears maintain a good grip on filament, especially when compared to stock gears. My favorite thing about the long levers is the way the filament threads through into the bowden tube, but it's a little fussy.

I expected it to work
5/5

I found the setup to be very According to other reviews, the spring in this kit was too strong, so I used the spring from my Anet A8 extruder instead of the one that came with it. Thanks to the Bowden setup, changing filaments is much easier! Other than that, the only modification I made was on the hose nipple end. The overall setup is great! I'm very happy with it!.

The recommendation is not to do so
3/5

The best models for a fraction of the price. There was no hardware on the lever so it hung loose and was free to swing. Once the stepper motor was tightened, the release arm was frozen when the two screws provided were tightened. Also, the screw and spring tensioner provided with the model were too big. The spring could be used alone and you wouldn't get enough tension, or you could use the screw cap often used in these Mk8 feeders, but this would result in too much tension and lead to filament deformation. To bad this unit doesn't work as well as it should. I really like the extra pinch levers for the release. On the top lever, the bearing screw does not fit into the recess, so it leans out of the lever.

It's better to use rubber than plastic
4/5

There are differences between this and the 3D printed Bowden extruders on thingiverse, but this one performs better. In the past, I have experimented with a variety of different types of 3D-printed options and a couple of It has proved to be one of the most reliable of them thus far. When your extruder motor gets hot, unlike the ones 3D printed, there is no risk of warping. Other machined aluminum kits are also more difficult to assemble. A smooth and easy process ensures that the adhesive slides right into place. Despite this, the product still has two drawbacks. These are It is difficult to adjust the tension, and it does not come with any extras. As luck would have it, I have not had to make any adjustments in this area. The second problem is that it cannot be reversed. A tube can't be connected to both ends of the tube, and it can't be used in one direction only. The fact that it is not a deal breaker for me is a bit disappointing. And it's nice to have it in various.

I was unable to advance the As an upgrade for the plastic extruders on my Geeetech A20M, I bought these WINSINN 3D Printer Bowden MK8 Extruder
3/5

After installation was complete, a filament test was performed. An extremely strong spring firmly grips the extruder, not allowing the filament to advance, resulting in no filament Thus, I am returning the MK8's in exchange for a model that does allow you to adjust the spring tension and possibly has.

It looks good to me
4/5

It is easier to release tension on filament with the two extended levers. A slight problem is that the mounting screw on the movable lever does not screw in tight enough. Stepper motor housing faces it, so it is directly in the way. As soon as you tighten the screw, the lever is stuck. You may need a small bearing to place between the housing and the bearing or you might need to file It is, in general, a good show.

It is much less painful to load filament using this lever
3/5

The extruder is not up to my standards on two counts. Getting the filament to start going down the Bowden tube is a little tricky, and it should have been reversible so the filament could be removed in either direction. It is possible to flip the parts so that it loads from the right side, however longer screws are required for such a change.
