These are abrasive wheels! The 4. 5" wheels cut almost as fast (if not faster) than a new "standard" wheel on my 7" grinder. And this is done with only a little more pressure than the weight of the grinder doing the work. br>br>I do a lot of grinding and have probably worn out hundreds of grinding wheels over the course of my life; these are the most aggressive cutting and longest lasting wheels I've ever used. The current wheel has been used to sharpen at least 2 dozen commercial mower blades (near 1/4" thick high carbon heat treated steel) and what must have been 2 hours of grinding on fabrication projects, and it still cuts like new. br>br>I don't think I'll ever buy another wheel for fast material removal. There's no point in wasting time with anything else when these are this good.
They also do not heat metal nearly as quickly and are easier on the grinder because only a small amount of pressure is required. I'm not a safety nut, but if you're going to use these, make sure you wear eye protection. These discs don't just spit out metal dust like cheap stones do; they spit out shards that you can actually see, some of which are large enough to pick up!.
This disk claims to remove more material, and it most certainly does. I was cleaning up the joins on a cattle fence by grinding the slag off of welds, and it worked like a charm.
This set of grinding wheels is incredible. They have a strong cutting action and a long lifespan. I'm surprised at how well-defined the corner remains for so long. These aren't for you if you prefer to work with the angle that you wear on the rim of a grinding wheel. Look no further if you prefer wheels that get the job done faster and for a lower price per hour of grinding.
On my forestry mulcher, I use these fir sharpening hardened teeth; they work great, are quick, and don't generate a lot of heat.
If you want a grinding wheel that actually grinds, the reviews are correct. You've come to the right place. br>It's the best I've ever come across.
They are quick to cut and have a long lasting effect.
Three times the price of a standard wheel for no extra benefit.
