It has a piece for your hot iron, and it folds easily. I almost bought one of the wool mats, but decided to try this first. This piece lays out well, has a piece for your hot iron, and folds.
I was able to use it without any problems. A chemical smell does not exist. This is due to the ironing mat's thickness and the fact that the heat did not penetrate the mat into the table. There is a cute travel pouch included as well. I was also pleased to find that the silver color of the mat did not rub off onto my clothes.
Perfect. If I need more work surface space, I can roll it up on my work table and keep it next to my sewing machine. It's the perfect ironing surface for quilting. I can keep it on my worktable next to my sewing machine and roll it up when I need it!.
