The bait and switch is back again. As I ordered this chimney brush, I thought it would arrive in "new" condition. Upon arrival, however, the box had been completely destroyed. While the brush appeared to be in good shape, it was smudged There was a chance it would be damaged, but it didn't happen. It is not possible for the rods to be connected to the threaded screw. It is usable! This brush could not be used because I could not connect it to those nuts or another nut that would allow this brush to function. I believe that this is exactly why the concept of "online shopping" can be so completely deceitful. The same way McDonald's does it- You don't know what you "really have" until you drive away from a drive-thru. "They screw you at the drive-thru," they say. That's exactly what we're doing. Initially you have to pay, then you get it - If you buy something or don't receive it after it arrives, you are either wrong, defective, or have not earned what you paid for. The picture shows If you were to buy the item, you would be able to physically handle and inspect it if you were in a traditional retailer.

Knowing your flue's size will help you set it up properly

It's too big for my chimney flues. I ordered it based on the idea that my chimney flue was 12 x 8 inches wide. In reality, they were 11 1/2 by 7 1/2 in size. As luck would have it, I was able to return it and get a replacement.

The fit is tight

My 13x9" flues fit snugly in this. It was the right size to get the job done. Several of the bristles have already started to pull out. There is a possibility this will last a few years. A fire in the chimney is far worse!.
