This air purifier was purchased to replace a cheaply made, loud Holmes model that I purchased from Walmart, and while it did a decent job, I was not impressed. So I ordered the Guardian because, truth be told, I liked how it looked in the pictures and, more importantly, it had gotten rave reviews from everyone. I can personally attest to the positive reviews after using the Guardian for the past three days. This machine is extremely quiet, performs admirably, and is by far the most attractive air purifier I've ever seen. br>br>The only negative thing I can say about it, and others have mentioned it as well, is that it has a burning plastic odor that I noticed for several hours after turning on the power. My room is about 75 square feet and is medium in size. 80 sq. The smell was very strong, especially for the first hour (if I had to guess). I remember wondering if it would be kind enough to absorb its own odor, but the answer was no; fortunately, the smell faded quickly, and this purifier has been fantastic ever since. I've seen other reports of people being kept awake at night by the glowing blue light. I'm glad I was obstinate and ignored the negative reviews, because they nearly stopped me from purchasing the product. The light isn't particularly bright; rather, it has a soft glow, but if you're sensitive to that sort of thing (as I am), you can simply turn off the U. During the night It will continue to work flawlessly even if you disable this feature, though I do leave it on during the day when I'm at work. Is there anything it can do? I'm not sure. Finally, I'd like to point out that, even though it's allergy season in New Jersey, where I live, I wake up feeling completely normal, as if the air outside weren't laden with pollen (and who knows what else-- it's NJ! It's quite amazing, actually. Advantages: br>br> Great for allergies, quiet suction, aesthetically pleasing beyond belief, will keep your space smelling nice, almost no dust anywherebr>br>Cons: That awful odor for the first few hoursbr>br>I'll be back with an update in a few months!.
The unit was just purchased. It's all well and good, but I'm concerned that the purifier's output blows air backwards toward the intake. This, I believe, creates a recirculation loop, reducing the amount of unfiltered air that passes through the filter. To ensure complete room recirculation, the unit should blow filtered air far away from the unit and intake. I'm an engineer, so I might be overthinking things, but this appears to be a major problem. I believe that a significant portion of the air that passes through the filter is air that has just left the purifier.
After some wildfires in the area caused poor air quality, I purchased one of these for a one-bedroom apartment (1000 square feet). This was a great idea that worked perfectly. Every time I left and returned to my apartment, I noticed a difference. It was wonderful to be surrounded by fresh air.
Overall, this is a good product, though the air intake could be improved. Air is sucked in from behind. So having it close to the wall is pointless unless you turn it around so the back is facing out. Unless you have it far away from the wall, it looks silly this way, but it is the best way to get good airflow. It works well, but it's poorly designed.
I went to look into the warranty, and they require you to ship the entire unit back, which will take two weeks. I expected a higher quality product after spending $150 on it.
For the past three months, I have been using the GermGuardian AC5350B. My room is stuffy and has a lot of odors from the house. Asthma and allergies are also a part of my condition. The first thing that struck me was how quiet it was. You can barely hear it if it's set to level 3 or lower. To be honest, I didn't realize it was turned on at level 1. 4th level 5 is a relatively low-pitched fan noise - It's not as bad as a low-speed ceiling or box fan. I've noticed that my room smells fresh and clean since I started using this, and I've had a significant reduction in asthma symptoms. I didn't pay much attention to the dust because, due to my allergies, I'm already a bit obsessed with it. I've had no problems with it running 24 hours a day since I got it. My room is about 12x15, and the size is fine. I have a friend who has the slightly less expensive version of this that she bought at Walmart, and it works just as well, but it is much noisier. This product is superior to that one in my opinion. I hope this information is useful!.
Great product; I have two indoor dogs, four children, and a lot of dirt in our backyard; our two-year-old has a skin allergy that causes her to scab up. When I'm working out in our home gym and gasping for air, I can see dust particles floating in the air, which, aside from making me feel bad, I believe, makes things worse. We have the smaller version, which is good but too small to be used outside of a bedroom, for about half the price. This device has improved our child's allergy symptoms, and the air not only feels but also smells fresh. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Regrettably, I must give this product a poor rating. The control panel for the fan can only turn the machine on or off; the rest of the buttons are broken. I'm unable to adjust the fan speed, activate the UV, or do anything else. Otherwise, it works. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: I requested a return and replacement, and the machine now functions properly.
