Questions & Answers
I was curious about the same thing - The only difference, according to the Guardian website, is that the 5250PT has "Pet Pure" filtration. "The Pet Pure(tm) is an antimicrobial agent added to the filter to inhibit the growth of mold, mildew, and odor-causing bacteria," according to the company's website. causing bacteria to grow on the filter's surface "br>Because the filter I'm replacing doesn't smell like mold or mildew, I'm going to save $16 and get the FLT5000 instead.
Depending on the model, it could be different. AC5350B is the model I have. I simply replaced the filter and held the Timer button down for three seconds. "HEPA RESET" is written beneath the timer button on my model. This was successful. It isn't flashing anymore.
I found the various filters and models to be difficult to figure out, so I returned to the page with the unit(s) I purchased and placed an order (subscribe). 1 of each unit should be saved. I checked the box on my CPet filter that said it was for AC5000, AC5200, and AC5300 models; It was 20" in length. (I also ordered filter size B for my "not pet pure" unit, which came in at 14.) 5". I'd suggest contacting the company to see if anyone who is more knowledgeable about germguardian can assist you. (I had a problem with the UV light, and they noticed my review and reached out to me before I could reach out to them.) Best of luck!

" What they've actually done is changed the size of the new replacements slightly, causing them to no longer fit older units, requiring you to force the back panel to close instead of clicking it into place easily. I wondered if I'd done something wrong when I set it up. Nope, I reinstalled the old filter, and the back panel closed smoothly as it should. Then I replaced it with the new filter, making sure the arrow pointed in the right direction and the filer was pushed in as far as it would go. I had to yank the panel closed once more. After a few repetitions, the plastic tab on the panel will undoubtedly break. Yes, I'm using the proper size (a C pet filter that I've previously ordered from Amazon). This is most likely planned obsolescence by an unethical company in the hopes of convincing you to buy a new purifier. Sorry, but I'm going to have to replace my purifier. by buying a competitor's product.
Germguardian improved these filters, most likely to discourage people from using cheaper, better carbon replacements from companies like Veva. They made the filters slightly thicker so that other carbon filters would not fit properly. The issue is that their upgraded filter is now TOO THICK for the back grate to properly close. And no, the issue isn't with my AC5359W 28" Air Purifier. I have three of them, and they're all too small. Also, this filter is for this machine; it's a similar filter that fits perfectly on my 22" 4000 series machine. So either these are knockoffs or Germguardian's 28" machine's upgraded filter is defective.
It has made a huge difference for me because I have severe allergies here in Florida. All you have to do is remove the HEPA filter after six months and inspect it to see if it is still working properly. br>br>I recently purchased a replacement and was surprised to discover that I couldn't close the unit without a bit of force! I don't want to buy a new Germ Guardian, so I'll live with it as is, but I'm hoping they'll read these reviews and rework the filters to make them fit. Bummer.
Anyone who, like me, moves from apartment to apartment on a regular basis NEEDS an air filter, especially if there is a lot of carpeting that traps dirt, dust, microbes, and bateria. br>Most apartments have been occupied by multiple people for several years before you move in, and no amount of cleaning will be able to remove everything that the previous occupants have left behind (on a microscopic level). Other people's skin, hair, odors, and other gross things we don't want to think about become trapped in carpeting, cracks, paint, vents, cabinets, fixtures, and other places we don't want to think about. For years, I've used Germguardian air purifiers with these filters, and I'd never move into an apartment without at least two of them running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. br>The air is cleaner, smells don't linger, dust is reduced, and microscopic organisms are removed from the air, resulting in a healthier respiratory system, a stronger immune system, and fewer irritations (such as headaches, dry eyes, sneezing, and so on). Most importantly, knowing that some of the nasty stuff released by the carpet is filtered through this filter gives you peace of mind. It is undeniably effective. As the air becomes cleaner and cleaner as a result of the constant filtration, there will be less and less residue trapped in the filters. I would strongly suggest it.
The new "improved" filter is too thick to fit into the unit safely. I felt like I was breaking the latch because I could barely close the back. This filter has been replaced on three machines a total of three times. The new ones are unquestionably excessively large. I'm concerned that squeezing the back shut will cause an issue.
This was supposed to be the same filter I ordered before, but it does not fit my air purifier as advertised due to an "upgrade. " Furthermore, it has a shoddy, low-cost appearance. My GermGuardian is less than a year old, and I need to upgrade to a newer model. a bluff.
To begin with, the upgraded pet C filter's yellow casing is purple rather than yellow as stated in the product specifications. The hepa filter is reasonably priced for the amount of time it lasts (6 to 8 months), and you can save even more money if you buy it through Amazon's save and subscribe program. The charcoal filter attached to this hepa filter is paper thin, making it useless for odor removal. To extend the life of the hepa filter, I purchase the thicker Viva carbon odor eliminating filters and replace the charcoal filter every 4 to 6 weeks. My previous hepa filter lasted for a year and a half. I wish Germguardian would improve their charcoal filters and update them.
