The batteries will be used in the event of a power outage or if your transformer fails upright, as mine did. It's a nice feature to have, but it's not required.
I made a Christmas tree out of it. Lift chair is something I'm not familiar with.

My power recliner loveseat was replaced with an exact match. Matches the voltage/current requirements of the original Okin power transformer that blew (I cracked the original open and saw two resistors on fire! Melted to its core tarnished). br>br> I'm only giving it three stars because it's a million times lighter than the original. When the original Okin transformer was cracked open, it revealed a high-quality, well-engineered product. Based on the weight difference, I believe this replacement has removed many of the original's components, which usually means it has removed safety-related components. Was the original, however, as well engineered as it appeared to be if it could burn up? Or did the extra engineering result in two resistors burning out rather than the entire unit catching fire? The only way to find out is to wait.
My mother had a powered recliner because she couldn't use the lever on the side of a regular recliner, but the power supply was misplaced during a move. I received this one, which plugged in easily and performed as expected. The chair could not be reclined without the power supply, so this came in handy.
On the first day, it worked perfectly. But now that it's been a month, I'm having issues with the chair controls not working. They do it sometimes and don't do it other times. I double-checked all of the connections and confirmed that they are all secure.
I attempted, but failed, to obtain one of these units through my furniture's warranty. When I was turned down, I turned to Amazon, where I discovered the same item for a much lower price. This is the right piece for my sofa. The mechanical components function as if they were brand new!.
Someone was giving away a free recliner, so I grabbed it. It looked brand new and had only been used a handful of times. The only thing that prevented the recliner from working was a missing adapter. It's incredibly simple to set up and use, and it performs flawlessly!.
It was cheap and it worked perfectly; I was able to get my chair working again in a matter of minutes. It was delivered quickly. I would strongly suggest it.
I replaced the power supply with this one, and it's been working for several months now, so I'm satisfied.
