We bought this to put on top of our It's pretty large, so there's plenty of stuff in it. A diagram included with it states to place the weight directly on the top of the hutch and to only place other items in the bins and cubbies. The pin board underneath is a nice touch. I placed a bunch of stuff on top and it does not say no weight on top, even though there is just fine weight on top. Since it did not come with an undercounter light, I was able to buy one from Lowes and mount it using the mounting bracket that I had previously purchased The underside of the structure has been drilled.
