If you want your files to hang properly, you'll need to order an insert. I paid $11 for an Office Mate Plastic hanging file folder frame. It was 97 at the time, and it worked perfectly. To fit it in the SONGMICS cabinet, you'll need to break off four tabs, but it's a simple process.
Only if the drawer is completely flat.

When I first saw this listing, there were no reviews, and I was hesitant to buy it because of problems that I and other reviewers have had with cabinets from other brands arriving damaged and unusable, but I already own two other SONGMICS products, and I desperately needed additional storage that would fit under my new desk, so I bought it. I'm glad I took the chance! Despite the outer box being ripped/gouged in a few places, it arrived completely undamaged. The entire cabinet was wrapped in a large plastic bag and covered in foam paper, with 1" styrofoam pieces protecting the corners, and two STEEL frames around the front and back of the cabinet for added protection. I was under the impression that these were part of the cabinet, but they were only there to protect it during shipping. The instruction manual is housed in a plastic bag that is taped to the top of the box, making it the first thing you see when you open it. br>br>After unwrapping the cabinet, which comes with the drawers locked (yes, all three drawers lock with the key! ), it's time to put it together. It was simple to get them unlocked and start putting them together. The keys were kept in a plastic envelope taped to the middle drawer and hung from a lanyard on the front of the cabinet. The top drawer is easily opened with the key, and the bottom drawer can be reached from beneath the cabinet. After that, with the bottom drawer open, the middle drawer can be opened from underneath. Inside the middle drawer is a pouch containing all of the parts. br>br>All parts are in their own ziploc bags, clearly labeled as A through F and H (part G is the cabinet itself), and there is at least one extra screw/washer/nut for each part. The instructions are basic, but it was easy to put together, and I had a fully assembled cabinet within 20 minutes of unpacking it. I installed the drawer handles before the wheels because I figured it would be easier to do so before the cabinet could roll away from me. Because you lay the cabinet on its side to install the wheels, doing that first had no effect on the installation of the wheels. The only (minor) issue I had was that the screws for the bottom drawer's wheel were difficult to start because of the pre-drilled holes. The drilled holes are slightly smaller than I'd like, but I believe this is on purpose so that the screws are seated securely. The tape used to hold the various items in place left a small amount of residue, but once I got the cabinet in place, a little GooGone took care of it. I was able to carry the cabinet inside and downstairs after completing the assembly outside as soon as it arrived. It's heavy, and with my short arms (I'm 5'4"), it was a little difficult to hold firmly while descending the stairs, but I made it safely, and it slid right under my desk with plenty of room to spare. I locked the front two wheels, and now I can open and close all three drawers with minimal cabinet movement. br>br>Overall, I'm very pleased with the cabinet's quality and the care with which it was shipped. I was a little skeptical about the price at first because it seemed a little high, but I am completely satisfied. br>br>Later this weekend, I'll spend some time filling up the top two drawers and putting files in the bottom drawer. I'll let you know if I find any problems once it's fully loaded, but I don't expect anything to go wrong right now. I would buy this cabinet again if I had the space.
As other reviewers have stated, this item provides excellent value for the money. When I first started looking for a rolling file cabinet online, my expectations were low. I expected to get something made of the thinnest sheet metal possible, with plastic parts and bad casters, and that it would start falling apart as soon as it was taken out of the box because of my budget. br>I was surprised to find that this file cabinet is quite sturdy, and it almost feels as if it were made of steel. quality comparable to that of some professionals I've used them at work and they're of a good quality. The positive feedback is accurate in terms of manufacturing quality and shipping container sturdiness. It's almost as if the shipping container is over-sized. With a combination of thick cardboard, styrofoam, and steel reinforcement frames, it was engineered. Despite some signs of semi-damage, all of that protection ensured that the cabinet arrived intact and undamaged. The shipper handled the package with care (as is customary). br>It took about 15 minutes to put everything together. The most difficult part was locating the parts bag, which was taped inside the cabinet in an inconspicuous location. The screws that hold the handles in place are barely long enough to engage the threads on the handles, causing the plastic liner on the drawer's interior to flex more than seems ideal by the time the screws are tightened. These are minor flaws in what is otherwise a sturdy, well-built filing cabinet that I expect to last for many years.
The directions aren't up to snuff. Put the cabinet on its side and open the bottom drawer, as directed in the first step. Unlocking the cabinet is the first step. br>br>The handle holes aren't aligned. See the illustration for more information. This can be fixed by inserting a small screwdriver or rod into both holes and twerking it to the side; if the manufacturer had made a wider piece of metal, you could skip this step. Everything else: br>br> The wheels, metal, drawer sliders, and lock all appear to be of average quality. br>br>This filing cabinet isn't quite up to par. 2 out of 5 stars.
I purchased four, three of which were severely damaged, with file folders that did not fit and parts that were not included in one of them. Made for a low price. I attempted to contact the seller but received no reply. When I try to return them, the label is not pre-paid, and I do not believe it is my responsibility to pay for them to be returned because they are damaged, missing parts, and not as described. I'll return to update myre4view if the contact handles this properly.
At the age of 23, this small file cabinet is ideal for the space beneath my desk. 5 inches in height It's well-made, with full-extension deep drawers and a solid construction. It even has a small wheel under the bottom drawer to make pulling it out easier and prevent it from tipping over. Additionally, the price is very reasonable. It is something I strongly suggest.
This is a solidly constructed small file cabinet with two additional drawers. It has four wheels and an additional wheel for the file drawer that pulls out. This is a crucial characteristic. Until the door handles were added, assembly was simple. The screws that hold the handles in place are very small and difficult to line up. If they solve this issue, they will receive a perfect score!.
sturdy. The design is sturdy. Drawers glide smoothly, and it's a compact unit. I didn't even try to use the wheels. It took some time to get the handles on because the screw had to be aligned through two sheets of metal, but it was simple. Steel is sturdy and not flimsy, making it a good value for money.
The only problem I had with this file cabinet was the lack of readable assembly instructions, but it's pretty simple to figure out if you look at the pictures. For the price, the cabinet exceeds my expectations.
